I was looking for a woodsy venue for a get away weekend where I didn't have to prepare food. This place checked all the boxes. The lodge was gorgeous, the surrounding grounds were very woodsy and the wine barrels in the back patio felt like we were at a private winery. Each evening we enjoyed the local wines and custom charcuterie boards that Chef Bruce created for us. Coffee and morning breakfast was served in the lodge's great room. For dinner, Bruce suggested several nearby restaurants that are a short drive away, some even within walking distance.

Outstanding stay at The Black Bear Inn for Thanksgiving. Bruce, the owner, is not only an amazing host but also an incredible chef. Our Thanksgiving package included dinner, along with tapas and wine and breakfast every day. Each being exquisite. Anyone considering visiting this area,which is very close to the Big Trees State park, should put The Arnold Black Inn at the top of their list.

Every detail was attended to perfectly. Absolutely wonderful stay in this wonderfully friendly and exceptional Inn. The great/living room was an architectural marvel. We enjoyed spending our mornings viewing the pine trees and grounds. Our Tuscany room was tastefully comfortable, clean, and enjoyable. The breakfast brunch and afternoon wine and cheese board were beautifully presented and delicious.

A treasure near Big Trees state park. Wonderful hospitality, excellent wine & cheese, and special breakfast. Rooms are lovely. Also great hikes right out the front door. Restaurants are also within walking distance. So glad we stayed here. A gem.

I felt like I walked into a hallmark Christmas movie. It was so warm and inviting. From the wine and cheese plate to the almond crusted French toast for breakfast. Absolutely delightful!! We will definitely be back!! We would love to bring the whole family.

We expected the inn to be nice, didn't expect it to be fabulous, which it was luxurious, quiet, beautifully maintained, and both breakfasts were delicious! We will definitely be back. Becky, the manager, was super friendly and helpful and made us feel completely at home. We will be back.

I can't say enough about every aspect of Black Bear Inn! What a wonderful experience -- and so close to so many outstanding Sierra Nevada attractions! The four seasons offer a multitude of varying experiences. My husband and I can't wait to return!
