Bishop Hill in general is a cool place to visit, it seems like there is a historic building on every block, but the Creative Commons, well this place is amazing!! Very neat little art studio and a lot of nice pieces. Plus, get this, they are supported by the local as well as rural residents!! Yep, it’s true! They offer live music events several times a month and the people that attend are some of the nicest you will find anywhere. Very welcoming but also, they appreciate the arts!!!! John is the best!!!! The stage and sound in this little venue is just awesome!!! You won’t be disappointed if you stop in to shop or take in a show.

Wonderful art, wonderful music. ♡♡Oct 10, PD Adams and Elizabeth Geyer played as a last minute addition before the Ordinary Elephant show. I loved it. ♡♡ This venue is in an art co-op where quite a few visual artists' beautiful work in different mediums is displayed for viewing and sale around the big room. If you are there during the morning or early afternoon, you might catch one or more of the artists at work on their craft, as I did, or you might meet one at a show as I did. All ages show, from toddlers to grandparents--beautiful. There are no grocery stores closeby [17 miles last I checked] and most establishments in Bishop Hill close early other than the Colony Inn (local bar across the street) which serves some food, so plan ahead for that if you're thinking of grabbing something on the way. Creative Commons books great music, and it's worth an overnight stay and exploration of the little town. That's what I did, and I met so many friendly people with interesting stories, had a great cabbage roll lunch at PL Johnsons, took in lots of art and crafts, and had a cherry Colony Pie (so good!) sitting on the porch at the Bishop Hill Bakery enjoying the fall scenery before heading out. Lovely. ♡♡

Great listening for live music. Very respectful audience that were dead silent during the performance.

This has been a local historic place for many years! I visited recently to see a concert in the park. The concert was free so it's hard to beat that! I would like to see the restroom situation get better as there was only one public restroom and it is a family restroom. The other one is in a pottery shop and the owners were nice enough to let us use it! Thank you! A new restroom facility would be a great investment and hopefully the new crowds the concerts are bringing in will help fund that. Great experience.

Loved having the live predator birds there last weekend. So informative and beautiful birds. Vendors around also. Free birdhouse building with a finished house to take home, for those who cared to do that project. Very nice.
