It has a nice small waterfall inside the greenhouse. A few trees and a lot of colourful flowers for photo enthusiast.
But we could not locate any toilets in the building or in the area. We walked on a small .05 mile trail behind it and it was good. Spotted a few birds and a pair of deer.

It is absolutely beautiful-greenhouse, wildlife, trails. Parking is pretty noisy/loud off gouger but the forest is welcoming and quieter. Very beautiful parks.

I was excited to come here but honestly left disappointed. Compared to what I’ve seen at other area conservatories (Oak Park, Garfield Park etc) the quality is just not the same. The front room had tons of plants set in the landscape but none were actually planted…just arranged in plastic pots. Likewise, the tropical room also had many plants that appeared to be sitting in plastic pots for years. The cactus room was downright dark and depressing. The plants did not look well taken care of (and the doors were left open on a cold, rainy day in March…). Additionally, there are very few areas to sit - maybe only 3 benches in the whole place. There were also so many professional photography sessions going on that it felt awkward just to be in there, like we were always getting in the way of someone’s photos. The koi pond and waterfall were nice but there’s just not enough positives about this place to make me come back. Disappointing

Beautiful greenhouse and outdoor gardens attached to the Barber and Oberwortmann Horticultural Center which is the perfect venue for weddings and any other occasion. Great food, great service & the best venue in Joliet. Truly unique. Very friendly and accommodating staff. A hidden gem in Joliet and a must-see venue.

My family and I have been fortunate to enjoy the Bird Haven Greenhouse and Conservatory year around, including at Christmas time. This year, again, the staff created the most beautiful and festive setting for Santa.
I could never say enough wonderful things about the conservatory, and the staff that works there.
The only small imperfection in the sparkling gem, created for Santa, is the unsmiling, semi aggressive "professional" photographers and families that show up on a day that is very children, and fun oriented to take their professional photographs. While it is undeniably one of the most beautiful places to be photographed, I believe it would be a suggestion to have those "professional" photographers and families that want professional photographs to come in on a day prior to santa's big arrival, or after when the greenhouse is in its shining glory.
As I was nearly pushed over by a "professional" photographer, it ran through my mind; no I will not let this spoil or dampen this beautiful time with my family. Hats off as always to all of the staff at Birdhaven Greenhouse for the amazing work they do not only at the holidays but year around.

The place is ruined now. I hope the old time cacti & succulents were given to a proper greenhouse. I pray they weren’t thrown out just because they were big and hitting the roof. A real big shame.

What an unexpected treasure. A real gem, run by Joliet Park District. They even have a plant sale coming up end of April (check their website or FB pg). I visited on an early spring day and will definitely come back during summer when outdoor gardens are in full bloom. Very thankful for places like this, full of nature and beauty.
