Rude staff. Checked in and gave me a room that was not cleaned yet I’m a rewards member and I was not given my rewards gift or bonus points. Or even welcomed as a member. We were given a different room But seemed like I was inconveniencing staff. I never received an apology. Went to the pool no towels. And the hot tub was permanently shut down. I will most likely not return.

Room was good except the heater/air conditioner would not change the temperature much. Serious bathtub step in hold onto the safety bar. Eggs and microwave bacon had no flavor. Ice machine was fine and they did have good coffee there. Bread was getting stale.

This is an annual rest stop as we return north from Florida. Always, welcoming, always clean, always quiet.||Conveniently located off I39 within a couple blocks, and has restaurants from McDonald's to local family dining within a minute or two of the hotel.

I recently stayed at the Best Western during a quick trip, and my experience was generally okay, though not without its quirks. The location is quite convenient, just off the highway, making it a good choice for travelers.

Upon arrival, the check-in process was straightforward, and the staff were friendly and accommodating. The room itself was clean, which I always appreciate, but it felt a bit dated. The decor was very basic, and while everything was functional, it lacked any real charm or comfort.

One of the more significant downsides was the noise; I could hear traffic from the road and some sounds from neighboring rooms, which made it a little hard to get a good night’s sleep. Additionally, the Wi-Fi connection was inconsistent, which was frustrating when I tried to catch up on some work.

The breakfast offered was a nice touch, but it was quite limited—some pastries, cereal, and coffee. It did the job, but I had hoped for a bit more variety.

Overall, the Best Western is a perfectly fine option for a short stay. It’s clean and convenient, but if you’re looking for something more comfortable or memorable, you might want to explore other options. It’s good enough for a night’s rest, but don’t expect anything spectacular.

My dog and I stayed here while visiting the Starved Rock, Mattheissen, and Buffalo Rock SPs. There were a ton of dogs staying at the hotel (it's one of few pet-friendly hotels in the area), but everything looked and smelled clean. It's not a brand-new building and there is some wear on things. But they obviously work hard to keep it clean. Hotel staff was pleasant and professional. If you need a five star resort experience or you don't like dogs, choose a different hotel. This hotel is a comfortable place to rest after hiking all day with your dog at the state parks nearby. There's a Mexican restaurant across the parking lot and a McDonalds & gas station across the road so you don't have to travel far to fuel up or eat. I didn't eat breakfast but there were plenty of guests enjoying the breakfast bar. I felt safe walking my dog around the parking lot at night and early morning (well-lit and very little traffic). Staying here was a good experience.

I don't know what others were talking about this place not being clean. The room we got was absolutely spotless. There was no smell other than a freshly cleaned scent with a hint of bleach, which my wife loved. Breakfast was pretty good. They had all the basics, fruit, waffles, breads and muffins, cereals, sausage and cheese croissants, and even fresh real eggs not the powdered stuff and oatmeal packets, yogurt cups and all the fresh coffee you want. For the price of the room with free breakfast and the location with no noise from traffic it is a great value. Would definitely book here again.
