A Decent Stay Amid Montgomery’s Growing Pains

This wasn’t the best Best Western I’ve ever stayed at, but it definitely wasn’t the worst either. It was a perfectly fine place to rest for the night while passing through Montgomery.

The city itself is clearly going through a period of revitalization, and with that comes some visible growing pains. There were a few things that gave me pause, but nothing that made me feel unsafe—just signs of a city in transition.

The hotel was clean, the bed was comfortable, and the basics were covered. One thing worth noting is the music playing outside the property. At first, I found it a bit strange, but I later understood it’s a security measure to help discourage loitering and crime. Once I realized that, I appreciated the effort. If you’re a light sleeper, just keep the air running—it drowns it out easily.

Overall, it was a decent stay. Nothing fancy, but it did the job. If you’re looking for a reliable place to spend the night in Montgomery, this Best Western is a reasonable choice.

Arrived at MN tired after all day driving. Conveniently located off interstate, numerous options in the area for overnight stay. Unloaded vehicle started to undress and realized no curtains, only a pull down blind that I could see through. Once in bed realized the parking lot lights shined into room. Too tired to switch rooms. Woke up to sun filled room. No hardware on window to indicate a curtain existed previously. Spoke to person at front desk on way out no explanation for this. Clean room, overly fragrant, perhaps the laundry detergent has a fragrance which is not kind for allergy sufferers. Room very cold ac set at 60 degrees and no blanktes. Thank goodness I brought one. I have never experienced a room without curtains for privacy or light intrusion. Standard continental breakfast. Overall clean and friendly staff.

Buggers on the wall, air conditioner didn’t work, chemical or cleaner smell throughout hallway and lobby, maybe to clean/cover up mold or smoke, or it was possibly pesticide smell? Gave me a headache.|Hotel next door vacillated between blasting music and people yelling at each other. Super sketch. Neighborhood is a bit run down.|Room itself was not super clean- tub was dingy. Bed wasn’t that comfortable.|Couldn’t sleep well because it was hot and gross. I woke up with a few bites. |Like another review said, I slept in what I came in and didn’t bring in my stuff except a toiletry bag.| I always check rooms before I bring my stuff in and didn’t see anything directly, although was suspect after looking at mattresses. Boyfriend had already paid and he was tired from driving so I didn’t tell him I wanted to find a different place. |They brought in minimal stuff as well. Expect better for a chain hotel with this name. It should at least be clean.|Stay somewhere else and if you have to stay here unpack outside when you get home- everything goes straight into a plastic bag and then into the drier. I |didn’t bother to say anything to staff because there is obviously no pride in ownership if the same issues are being raised in the other reviews.

I was greeted by Hannah Assistant Manager as a Diamond member and upgraded my room, and took my $50 dollar gift card off my balance. Also gave me a gift for being a Diamond member. The Breakfast was Fresh and Hot. I was very pleased to see that the first morning, they had Turkey Sausage because I don't eat pork. Upon checking out I noticed I was overcharged for my stay, I showed Hannah and the Manager. They took care of the overcharge and credited my card right away. I would highly recommend this motel as next time I'm in Montgomery I will definitely stay here again.

I stayed here tonight and it was a GREAT experience. The room was CLEAN ... smelled great ... comfortable temp .... the property felt safe and the young guy that works over night was SO SO SO NICE! Nicest hotel employee I have ever met. I had to stay up and work all night and he even made me fresh coffee at 3am. Thank you for the AFFORDABLE and FRIENDLY place to stay while I was in town!

Upon arrival I was treated very kindly, I was even upgraded to a larger size room to accommodate my needs. The room is clean and smells good. Bathroom is also very clean, large size TV, and very comfortable bedding. And excellent place to stay for a quick stop and hot shower!

My room's sheets were damp and had old stains on them and I found someone's hair in the bed. The rooms smelled like someone had been smoking in it even though the whole hotel is supposed to be non-smoking. Metal fixtures/furniture accents on the bench and the side tables were rusty. Customer service was poor - during the middle afternoon and again in the morning, there was no one at the front desk. The neighborhood was sketchy, but at least it was located right off the interstate. Spend a few more dollars and go somewhere that is clean.

I've stayed at this hotel multiple times over the years, and I recently visited under new management. I want to highlight that while the hotel is currently under construction, it’s in better shape than I’ve ever seen it. The new management is truly reshaping the experience here.|I've noticed some unfair reviews, and while everyone is entitled to their opinion, many complaints seem out of the staff's control. Speaking of staff, they are fantastic Dia, in particular, is incredibly sweet and attentive.| the bedding is very comfortable. I appreciated the grab-and-go breakfast, which is a nice touch. For the price, you really can't beat it.||If you're considering a stay, don't let the reviews discourage you. This is the best I’ve seen this place in years, and I highly recommend it!
