Very pleasantly surprised! You never know what to expect with an older roadside hotel. This place was not only, the only hotel around but it was clean, beds comfortable and a hot shower with great water pressure. The room smelled good/clean and the sheets were soft and clean. They accept dogs with a good grass area equipped poop bags. The breakfast was good with real eggs and potatoes. Staff was friendly and helpful. I would recommend this place and I would stay again! I gave 4 stars simply because it is an older hotel.

It may be a small town and a humble setting, but they have done well in their renovations and upkeep. It is very well kept. We were very pleased with the cleanliness of the room. I feel it is important to note that the rooms are more than just basic amenities, they have decorated them thematically and created a cozy environment. Small but intentional details make all the difference! I noted that even the closet had a door rather than your typical hotel open closet.
We were able to park the semi truck with no problem. They have a large open parking space at the south end of the building. There is also ample green space for walking the dog and picnicking if it’s the right time of year.
Breakfast was a fantastic spread and the ladies are friendly and keep that breakfast room spotless. We appreciated the quantity and diversity of options. A definite repeat should we ever be in Clayton again. Thank you!

At the end of a long day of driving in the rain, this was a pleasant stop. The entire hotel, including parking lot, was clean and comfy. We travel with our dog so Im always looking around for trash, etc that he might pick up or sharp items he might step on. This place was spotless. The breakfast was great...we loved the green and red chili.
I slept soundly but my husband mentioned the train horn kept him awake. He is a light sleeper.
Would definitely stay here again.

We had a great experience at this motel! It was clean, quiet, staff was very friendly and professional. I loved the shampoo and conditioner set, along with make up wipes and shower cap.

The breakfast was absolutely amazing! We had an opportunity to make a breakfast burrito with tortillas, scrambled eggs, sausages, diced potatoes and salsa. Also, the kitchen staff was very friendly and they did a great job keeping the facility clean!

The reasons I’m giving this motel 4 out of 5 stars is because the room was very dark (some of the lights bulbs were out) and there were no blackout curtains in the windows. Also, the bath tub wasn’t draining fast enough (it seemed to be clogged), and there were no grab handles in the bath tub.

Overall, the experience was very good. We’d definitely stay here again!

2/6/25- Clean room. The heating/cooling system was super loud and would wake me up when it went off. I was going to give this place 4 stars out of 5 (3 stars being an average score) but down graded it to 3 because of something weird that happened. I had requested a 7:30 am wake up call, but then between 2:30am an 2:50am the phone wake up call went off 3 times. After the second one I called the front desk and they had no idea why it was happening. In the morning at check out I told the worker about it and he was confused as well. A night of no sleep on a road trip is not a good thing and I just can't give them a higher score.

The bed was very comfortable and the room was very clean and the decor fit the town perfectly.Breakfast was awesome! It is the best one we have had in the two weeks of traveling.The staff were helpful and friendly. Would definitely stay there again and recommend it to others.

Not worth staying at this Best Western. Our toilet back up and would not flush and when reported to the staff they could have cared less. We literally smelled poop all night, what a way to ring in the new Year. Would not recommend this Best Western.

Would not recommend. Our toilet backed up so we smelled poop all night. It wasn't a pleasant way to spend New Year Eve. The front desk clerks were not friendly or helpful. The attendance for breakfast asks several questions before I was allowed to get the free breakfast. I will stay at the haunted hotel down the road next time we are in town. Would not recommend.
