Stopped here on our way to Florida and we’re glad they had rooms available but the attendant was hard to understand. We were told one price and ended up paying a lot more. Definitely not worth the price to stay here, the room we got had a broken smoke alarm, the plug for the bathtub was gone (which they replaced) and the breakfast wasn’t very good. The sausage patties were crusty, the waffle mix was water and there was just a limited amount to eat. When you pick a place that serves breakfast to save money you definitely expect more.

We have often stayed at this hotel throughout this past year, nearly every other week. It was fine at first. Good value for the money and the staff is wonderful. However the last 2 stays, with this last being the worst has forever deterred me from ever staying here again. There has been no Air conditioning in the main lobby or the hallways for the last month, making the rooms take forever to cool down. The AC units in the room are old and need updating. The entire third floor reeked of marijuana and people were screaming in the hallway. People in the breakfast area were letting their children trash the place, and the staff said and did nothing. It appears to be going downhill and it’s a shame, because it has great potential.

Positive: "" Negative: The floors were not clean -- my son's white socks quickly turned black on the bottoms from walking on the floors in our room -- we all put our shoes back on. The window blackout blind didn't fully shut. The other 2.5 stars are much better.

This hotel has been nothing short of exceptional, from the moment my family and I arrived. I travel often staying at high end hotels, motels, air BNB and everything in between and was pleasantly surprised by this property. The customer service has been exceptional, the rooms, towels, sheets, etc. have been the cleanest, cleaner than some of the best hotels that I've stayed in. The staff has made us feel at home, from the moment you step in the door, you can smell the cleanliness in the air, and are greeted with a warm family welcome. The location is less than two miles from any and every store you could possibly need to visit on a vacation. This is hands down one of the best properties I have ever stayed at in my life, and if you happen to find yourself here you won't regret it.

We stayed in the same motel in 2024, it was clean, fresh & new.|April 2025, it has aged significantly, room was musty, no hand soap or Kleenex in the room. “Coffee service” was a single pod of decaf. Burned out bulb in bedside lamp. Room was very tired & not well maintained.||Breakfast was disappointing- dried eggs, sausage were half warm, danish were wrapped in plastic & poor quality. ||We will look for another motel next time we are in Gardendale.

Nice spacious room with jacuzzi, microwave, refrigerator. Premises is kept clean. Coffee out with flavored creamer all the time. Baked chocolate chip cookies out for guest. Price was fair.

Comfortable, clean affordable hotel. I was there for 2 nights and overall this was a positive experience. I was able to use my award points to reduce the cost significantly on the first night and the second night was also very reasonable. Very satisfied!

At first glance, the place looks okay, but then when you look more closely, you notice the dirty areas. In the rooms, the walls were peeling, and there were multiple holes. The pillows had hair on them, and a footprint was on one of the pillows. Found multiple roaches; one in the shower, two by the sink, and even found a roach crawling on the bed. I'm not sure why I also found an old moldy cookie under the bed as we were inspecting for more bugs. Breakfast was okay but bland. The only reason we stayed here was because of how tired we were but didn't sleep much anyway. Informed the front desk of the roach problem and didn't seem to care at all. We will not be staying here again. Avoid this Best Western. The 4.1 reviews are not correct.
