Bear Trail Cabins Alaska and Campground - King Salmon, Alaska

We reserved a camping spot with Margo for one night, on our way to Katmai. We were so glad we did. Margo was so kind to us, even though it was a short stay. It was easy to find her at the airport and she even drove us to the Saloon for dinner. We didn't really know what to expect, but having a clean place to shower and a dry storage for our gear was so appreciated. Stay with Margo and she will take care of you!

Simply the best!!!

Margo and Bear Trail Cabins are absolutely fantastic!

I stayed in the campground area which is SO beautiful with vast green space, and tucked behind the kitchen cabin with easy access to a spotless bathroom complete with flush toilet, shower, vanity, soap/shampoo, and even a hair dryer! The kitchen cabin is amazing too - full kitchen, warm, great space to meet other people who are staying at the cabins. There is also luggage storage and many camp sites to choose from each surrounded by lovely spruce trees. I loved how peaceful and lush this area was all while being right near the cabins. It is also surrounded by electric fence which is nice for peace of mind. Finally - the location is prime it was perfect to catch a float plane to Brooks Camp.

Margo herself is just the most kind, caring, and thoughtful soul. She made my stay all the more memorable with her kindness and also her deep knowledge of the area. I really enjoyed all the information she had to share about King Salmon, and really appreciated her above and beyond and even unexpected ways that she made my stay more perfect than I could have ever imagined!

I can't say enough good things about Margo and Bear Trail Cabins. Thank you and I hope very much to return here!!!

We stayed at Bear Trail Cabins for our visit to Katmai NP. The cabins are very cute and were clean and came with the same amenities as any hotel. Did I mention that everything was spotless?
They also have a bathhouse (in case you are camping) and a full community kitchen.
No review would be complete without mentioning one of the best hosts I have ever met - Margo! It seems she will do anything to take care of her guests. This includes trips to town for meals, airport shuttle and even providing materials to fix damaged luggage! Margo is the best.

WOW!! Margo and the Bear Trail Cabins were a highlight of our trip to Brooks Camp and our backpacking trip into the Valley of 10,000 Smokes. Her location in King Salmon was the perfect staging area for our trip. The Cabins are neat and clean, the kitchen is awesome (we cooked many of our meals there) and Margo is truely amazing! She is a full service kind of person and so much fun!! We had some travel delays and unexpected complications with the water taxi, etc. and she went over and above the call of duty to ensure that all worked out for us! LOVE her!! Our group of 8 highly recommends Bear Trail Cabins and Margo!!

We loved staying here! Comfy and cozy, our cabin had everything we needed. Very good WIFI, great bed and bedding. Community kitchen was very handy and it was fun talking with other travelers. The cabin grounds are very well maintained. The best part, though, is the host, Margo. She provided airport transfers and gave us several lifts back and forth to Sockeye Saloon for dinner. She was so flexible with our changing schedule and friendly. This is a very good place for families.

We loved our experience at Bear Trail Cabins. Margo the owner is such a lovely host. The cabins were very clean, great kitchen area with all the fixings needed for cooking. She really went out of her way to make us feel welcomed. She offers pick up at the airport and nightly dinner runs into town. I highly recommend staying here. Thank you Margo!

We stayed in the campground -- excellent! The plots are nicely spaced in the tundra. Shower is hot and easy to use. The kitchen is warm and accommodating. Margot is a wonder. She ensured that we got where we wanted to go, even stopping at the store and waiting. She also drove us to town so we could grab dinner. There is no other camping options; King Salmon is fortunate to have such an affordable and lovely campground as the only available campsite. Thanks Margot!.

Just got back from our trip which included a one night stay at Bear Trail Cabins. It was wonderful! Margo is lovely and remained in contact before and during our stay to ensure we were collected from the airport and taken on a dinner drop off for food int he evening.

The cabins are lovely, clean, spacious and has everything you need for a great stay. Would highly recommend 🙂
