Overall we had a very enjoyable stay! This is probably the most luxurious accommodation in the area (although very price compared to nearyby hotels). We were visiting family near by in Cartersville and it was a quick drive to and fro. The grounds are beautiful, and the rooms are spacious. We stayed from Saturday through Tuesday the third week of March and the resort was very quiet and not busy (Saturday was the busiest we saw). The rooms were quiet and we had a decent sleep, although our mattresses were a bit soft. We had young kids and they enjoyed the resort too. The smore offering with a bonfire in the evenings were a nice touch, and scones with tea/coffee at the Inn were enjoyed by us all. We did not get to enjoy any restaurants or amenities, but stopped in the gift shop and golf shop which were nice. Resort does have bikes to enjoy on the property, although we didn't have time to use them! All staff we encountered were kind and accommodating!

From the moment that we drove through the entrance of this gorgeous land we felt as if we could breathe deep and relax. Every fine tuned selection of the furniture, linens, toiletries, the class fragrance, to the delicious food; this place is regarded with care. The cottages are perfectly decorated and customized for this environment. This is the perfect place to gather with friends and family or a honeymoon experience, again and again. We are here during March and the natural wood burning fireplaces are very cozy during the chilly evenings along with the relaxing smell of firewood. I dream of the next visit. Take time to relax and enjoy life with so many recreational things to do.

Barnsley Resort is absolutely breathtaking! Nestled in nature with gorgeous scenery, historic charm, and top-notch amenities, it’s the perfect getaway for weddings, corporate retreats, or just a relaxing escape. From the stunning gardens to the cozy cottages and endless activities like golf, horseback riding, and spa treatments, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
When we first came here to set up the booth, we were blown away. The atmosphere is elegant yet inviting, the staff is wonderful, and every event feels like something out of a storybook. If you’re looking for a venue that blends Southern charm with luxury, Barnsley Resort is the place to be!

I brought my husband here for a quiet romantic getaway during the week and that is exactly what I got. Customer Service is top tier everyone work here is nice and friendly. The Resort is Beautiful and you will also learn the history about the Barnsley Family. Breakfast was very delicious and the rooms are so cozy. My husband and I did not want to leave.

A little pricey for what you get.

I got a burger at the beer garden for $20 turns out my parents got the kids burger for $10. They were the same size!!!!! They got theirs with a bun and the onion straws but no one got the bacon that was supposed to come on it. Photo of what you get for $20 - not even a chip included.

Dinner at the Rice House was great but again pricey for what you got. And we missed (non-refundable) bingo because dessert took a very long time. The food runners forgot my husband's dessert that was included in his 4 course tasting. The rest of the group had all finished our desserts when our server came back to check on us.

They also need to create seating areas inside. I'm sure the resort is fabulous when the weather is nice but we were there with a group of 6 and rain. Not many options for things to do when it rains. Sitting at the beer garden was fine for a little while but the seats are benches without backs and we got wet when the winds picked up. Small seating area in lobby was always full and no other options on site.

There's not a single thing I don't love about Barnsley. I've stayed in the cottages and have now stayed in the inn, and both are great. The entire staff is welcoming and personable, and they go out of their way to help out in any way they can.
Walking the trails around the ruins has always been my favorite part, though. They've set up hammocks on the trails, and I enjoyed a little afternoon nap in by the pond before walking to the spa for a facial. It was the most relaxed I've felt in my adult life. At the risk of sounding cheesy, there's really something magical about the place.

Barnsley is a piece of Heaven…beautiful landscape and facilities. The staff will make you feel like family! Excellent service all around and great food! It’s a must for your bucket list!! Go on the wine tour of the ruins!! Karry is AWESOME!!! 🙂

We did the romantic package. Beautiful facility and the rooms were very clean. We enjoyed the personalized attention and the food was excellent! Enjoyed lunch at the Beer Garden as well. Can't wait to go back when it is warmer. The spa was fantastic!
