Have to give this a 5 star review. The room that opens to the beach front was large and comfy (I’m not looking for modern furniture). The staff were super helpful and the location meant we saw water every morning and could walk most places. Plus the pool was swimmable even in a colder than usual January!

This is our second annual trip to San Diego, we stayed at Bahia for 8 days last year and it was a wonderful trip all around. This year we extended our stay to 12 days and the trip got off to a horrible start, our initial flight was canceled, the weather forecast took a turn for the worse etc. It felt like the universe had a vendetta against us.. Our trip got shortened by a day due to the cancelled flight and on our second evening we had an issue with our room. I just want to say that Bahia has made it their mission to turn our trips luck around. Because of how well they handled the issue we faced I don't think it fair to even mention it in this review. They went above and beyond to get us a credit for the missed night due to the cancelled flight even though they had no obligation to, and then this evening they did it again with handling our concern with our room. We were excited to stay here again this year as doing so comes with a sense of familiarity which makes any trip better, and after how they took care of us this go around we'll likely make the Bahia a staple of our annual San Diego trips.

My ONLY desire if anyone in management is reading this is to ask Dockside to change their menu! We absolutely loved the restaurant last year and ate there almost every day and were planning on doing so again this year but the menu has been a bit of a disappointment compared to last year (April 2024).

Regardless, thank you to the staff here for turning this trip around for our family!

This is a nice resort with a great location. It feels safe and is walking distance from Mission Beach. The buildings are a little older, but they keep everything very clean. Our housekeeping was amazing. At night, you can hear the employees pushing laundry carts around until pretty late. It does have its own private beach on the bay also.

I’ve been to San Diego many times and I tried different hotels and resorts in so many different places, ocean view hotels, and downtown hotels.
In my experience, Bahia resort is the best so far, the location is amazing, it’s on mission bay but you can walk 5 minutes to Mission beach.
I’ve been to this on 3 times so far and never got disappointed or bored, usually I get bay view room with multiple beds , it’s amazing and so spacious with a balcony.
They have everything you need for a nice family vacation, pool and hot tub , tennis court, game room , private beach, water sports, bikes, boat and Kayak rentals, they even have cabanas on the bay included , parking is included, you won’t need to leave the resort.

Older hotel with associated smells/cleanliness issues, in need of updates. Nice location on Mission Bay and restaurant setting is very nice but food prices are high and be ready to eat dinner with the many dogs that are allowed to come into the restaurant with their owners. If you have pet allergies probably not a good hotel for you.

We visited for New Year's, and our experience was decent. However, the property is OUTDATED both inside and out, and it didn’t match the pictures on Expedia. We noticed an unpleasant smell in our room, but the front office addressed it promptly with some air freshener. If you're looking for a more modern resort, this isn’t the place for you. We paid nearly $900 for two nights, which felt quite high for a motel-like experience.

Pros: The location is fantastic, right by a private beach. I recommend booking a beach room. It’s also just a 5-7 minute walk to Mission Beach and Belmont Park. The resort features a heated pool and a hot tub, and the check-in and check-out process was smooth.

Overall, I would rate this as a below-average resort.

This is the second year we have spent Christmas at the Bahia. Last year, we moved from San Diego but still intended to be there for Christmas. We wanted to be by the beach. We weren't just by the beach. We were on the water (bay side) and a quick walk to the beach and waves. We decided to stay again this year but went for a bigger room with a kitchenette as our stay was longer. This is a perfect hotel for dog owners. Our pup was welcomed, and it was fun seeing other families with their fury friends. We used the jacuzzi, which is very large and hot. Wonderful!! The staff were always friendly and accommodating. We really felt welcomed. During Christmas, they really make the resort feel sparkle, jingle, jolly. The only reason why no 5 ⭐️is because the hotel is dated, but that didn't affect the overall stay. We just want you to be aware.

Bahia has the perfect location. Surrounded by Mission Bay, they have beautiful sandy beaches with chairs and cabana layout areas. The water is gentle and clean. The grounds are lovely with tropical gardens.

The room kitchens could use an update. Also, the cars driving both ways makes for awkward and tight driving on the grounds.

The people are friendly! All the service we had was great and with a smile!
