I cannot say enough good things about the whole experience. Just WOW! Mary Kay is such a blessing, and it was fun to meet Steve and the family... including the four legged show stealer - Raven. So much fun!
Breakfast was an event, syrups and jellies were such a treat. Meals on the go - very good and filling. Hospitality, advice and genuine conversation was a joy.
Fish cleaning and gear staging areas were so nice.
Thanks for the indelible memories of Yakutat Alaska, We are hoping for a return in 2026!

A perfect stay. Mary Kay picked me up at the airport and showed me around town. We had great conversations, a comfortable stay, a fantastic breakfast, and her husband helped me start my plane. Quite an extraordinary experience all around. I am very grateful and excited to return.

Angler's Rest was wonderful! Mary Kay was super accommodating and knowledgeable about the area, and gave great advice on what to do around town, where to go, and so on. Her rooms were comfortable and I slept like a log. I stayed for seven nights and wished I could have stayed longer. She is so warm and friendly and her dog Willow was nice to be around as well.

She gives visitors full access to the kitchen cooking facilities and outdoor cooking facilities. The living room is hearty and hearth-y, with a nice wood-burning stove and log cabin walls, just the perfect kind of place you'd want to be when you come in wet and cold after a fishing trip or biking or kayaking trip all day in the rain.

Mary Kay took me on berry-picking trips and informed me about all that was edible and all that was not. In addition, she makes her own jams, syrups, and jellies out of wild berries and spruce tips she finds in the area, and they are so delicious on French Toast and Pancakes. She was also fun to be around and talkative and warm. I will never forget this experience. I would not have it any other way, would not stay at any other place than Angler's Rest. Sure beats the hell out of some formal, impersonal, Hotel.

I visited Yakutat on a work trip and could not have found a better place to stay. It was extremely comfortable and quiet, and Mary Kay is a truly kind and generous host. I cannot recommend Angler’s Rest highly enough - if there were a sixth star on here I’d give it.

Absolutely wonderful! Mary Kay is so kind, caring and hospitable. Breakfast was delicious, and her sweet, adorable dog Willow is a wonderful amenity to the stay. Cozy, cabin feel. Bed was very comfortable. Wish I could've stayed longer. Highly recommend staying here and I will definitely be back!

Angler’s Rest B & B is the absolute best place to stay in Yakutat! The accommodations are top notch and Mary Kay is the sweetest host/owner. Hot breakfast every morning is delicious (the only place in town) and an amazing stay after a cold day winter steelheading. Highly recommend Angler’s Rest B & B!

Group of five - we just got back from eight nights at Angler's Rest. Mary Kay made sure everything was perfect for our stay. A great breakfast every morning, help coordinating our daily fishing and sight-seeing plans, and cheerful advice along the way. The house was always warm and clean, and guests are given full access to the kitchen, refrigerator-freezers in the garage, and fish processing area. Having access to a washer and dryer is a HUGE bonus. Angler's Rest is the perfect launching pad for a do-it-yourself trip to Yakutat.

The best place to stay in Yakutat. Period. From the accommodations to the breakfast to the comfortable beds, Mary Kay (owner) takes care of her guests and makes sure that they’re enjoying their trip. Highly recommend for your visit to Southeast Alaska.
