I would to express my gratitude to Clarice, Tatiana and Regine how they provide the utmost service to me when I stay at the hotel. First, they address me by name, which I think is so welcoming. They know what kind of room I like without asking me, which shows me their willingness to ensure my stay will be comfortable. They alway offer me water and tell me anything I need to make my stay comfortable just let them know.

One day the lines were long and the telephone was ringing at the same time and they worked as a team to provide service to the customers in the line and on the telephone and to my surprise, the line went down very fast. Sometimes, it short staff at the front desk, but they seem to be smooth and relaxed while taking care of the customers. Always giving grace and kindness in high pressured situations. However, I am impressed how Clarice, Tatiana and Regine handles intoxicated customers with respect and still give them service politely.

Tatiana at the front desk is an absolute gem! She was handling *three* computers at once, all while keeping a warm smile and making every guest feel taken care of. Even with a long line and a few rowdy guests, she stayed patient, kind, and incredibly quick—getting everyone checked in smoothly without missing a beat. It’s not every day you come across someone who can juggle that much and still be so personable and attentive. She truly goes above and beyond, and honestly, her service alone is enough to make me want to come back. If anyone deserves a pay bump, it’s her!

The 10th floor ice machine was broken and smelly. I'm sure it has been this way for some time...a heads up from the front desk or management would help your patrons not scorch the earth with negative reviews. A closer attention to detail with soap refills would be great, too. This is my first hotel stay that I was truly disappointed 😞.

I will NOT be returning to this hotel/casino, EVER. In addition to the over $200 for the one-night stay, I was charged $59.99 "deposit" upon arrival but will ONLY get back $50...? So, the not so nice front desk employee stated, the reason why I wouldn't get the full $59.99 back was for the use of the exercise room. Really? I traveled to your facility and anyone that uses it would be charged? Seriously, that is crazy. I may dispute this with my credit card because I am thoroughly upset about this lame excuse. The phone in the room did not work. So, I had to use my personal cellular phone to contact the front desk. Again, not the nicest front desk employees. I requested an additional towel, but no one could bring it to the room...I had to get it. Do you see a recurring pattern here? It was as if they didn't care about us as guests. The breakfast in the hotel's ESPN restaurant was so SLOW, and they had a robot to help the wait staff.? This hotel actually turned off my room key/card BEFORE the 11am check out. So again, back to the front desk to get my room key/card reactivated. I am so very disappointed with this stay. Do yourself a favor, do not stay at Ameristar Casino East Chicago hotel.

We stayed three nights after Christmas, and we enjoyed our stay. The rooms are large and well kept. The service at the front desk, the restaurants and bars was exceptional. Shout out to Noel (from your Nebraska visitors), the bartender in the high limit area. She was so friendly and kind and really created a nice vibe at this bar. Five stars to her! The burgers at Burger Bros were amazing. The Asian food at the Red Lotus was great. The Starbucks machine in the lobby was greatly appreciated and so good. Overall, a great stay.

I recently had the pleasure of experiencing outstanding customer service at Ameristar Hotel, thanks to Tatiana, one of the hotel’s concierges. Her professionalism, kindness, and patience made my stay truly memorable, and I believe she deserves to be recognized for her exceptional efforts.

During my visit, the lobby was unusually busy, and tensions were high due to a delay in some guest room preparations. One guest, in particular, was becoming increasingly upset, and I could feel the stress building among the staff. That’s when Tatiana stepped in.

With a calm and collected demeanor, she approached the frustrated guest, listened attentively to their concerns, and responded with genuine empathy. Instead of reacting defensively, Tatiana took the time to understand the issue fully, reassuring the guest that she would work to resolve the situation. She offered a complimentary upgrade and a meal voucher as a gesture of goodwill, making sure the guest felt heard and valued. Her ability to de-escalate the situation without missing a beat was impressive.

Throughout the rest of my stay, Tatiana continued to shine. She managed multiple requests with ease, always with a warm smile and a soothing tone. Whether it was helping guests with directions, providing dining recommendations, or assisting with special requests, she approached each interaction with the same calm, thoughtful manner. It was clear that her goal was not just to meet guests’ needs but to ensure they felt truly welcomed and cared for.

Tatiana’s ability to handle difficult situations with grace and patience, all while maintaining a positive and approachable attitude, sets her apart. She embodies the essence of exceptional hospitality, making everyone feel like a priority, no matter the situation. Her kindness and professionalism make her an invaluable asset to Ameristar Hotel.

Tatiana truly deserves a raise for the extraordinary service she provides. What is going on with this casino? The whole lower deck of the boat has been closed. The top deck of the boat is closed. It feels like the casino space has been cut in half. The machines are so close to each other it's uncomfortable to sit at many of them. On busy days there's not enough machines to play. There's not enough of the most popular machines and there are none of the newer machines that are coming out. I havent seen anything new added in a very long time. Is this place going to close down because it kinda has that feel. Above all please do something about cigarette smoke. Knowing all we do about how dangerous second hand smoke is I can't believe you'd subject your customers and employees to this danger.

Great big room! The bathroom you can live in then it has a separate toilet room! Yes it was quiet but they have smoking rooms so it is smelly in the hall. Nice helpful fun people working at the counter. View not so good since you stare at trains and the mills, but it was very nicely priced.
