We got married at Altar on 10/12/24 and had THE BEST experience. We fell in love with Altar from first viewing the beautiful space in March 2023, and Calli (Event Manager) took incredible care of us. The space is stunning (brick, loft, chandeliers, wood beams) and spacious (we had about 155 guests). We had our ceremony and dinner + reception in the main area on the 2nd floor, which is huge and also features a spacious bar + lounge. Cocktail hour was on the 3rd floor, which gave time and privacy to flip the 2nd floor for dinner. And our after party was downstairs in the first floor brewery. The staff was professional and everything ran smoothly on the day. The planning process was also great and I found that Calli would usually respond to my emails at least within 48 hours, which I appreciated given how busy she must be. The venue does not have in-house catering but does have preferred caterers. We ended up not using any of their options so we had to pay an extra fee, but Calli and the Altar staff went out of their way to work well with our chosen caterer. Altar also provided the full bar service and bar staff. We were able to have beer on tap which was awesome. Overall the experience was incredible and we walked away from our wedding day with incredibly fond memories of our venue. Thank you Calli + Altar <3

Food was great.... it's a free for all sit down type of place. Had no idea if there were servers or order at the bar. Ended up ordering food and drinks at the bar than found seating. Its alot of share space, some tables. Place looks great. Rustic and old 40s long beach vibes. Friendly staff!

I have been in the beer industry for a good while now and Altar Society is opening with some great brews. The west coast IPA was solid and I really enjoyed the Czech pils as well!

It's a super cool place. Just absolutely gorgeous and I'm really excited to see them grow into it.

We Love Altar!! We had a truly memorable experience at Altar. Coordinating a wedding at this beautiful space was such a Joy. It will definitely be one that we remember for years to come. we look forward to Planning a future wedding Here at Altar. Cali was such a delight to work with.We also had a lovely experience with one of their Preferred catering companies Fundamental events.

Service 8/10 food is a hard 5.

Pizza over seasoned sauce
Meatball sub is a salt bomb
Burgers greasy but ok if drinking.
Italian sandwich, forgot cheese and very dry bread
Tater tots were fine
Fries ok
Chicken tenders were decent
Chicken sliders were decent
Beer is decent
Both seltzers were decent
Mac n cheese is essentially store bought velveta shells n cheese

The Altar Society is a relatively new brew pub located in downtown Long Beach. They have a nice selection of beers and food that is intended to be shared.
