We've stayed with Norma about 4 times total now. Two separate nights in June 2020 and most recently this past week in April 2021. The Lakeview Suite (an upstairs studio suite). each time. ||||The breakfasts are delicious and very filling. Bring your appetite!||||I am in love with the property. She has a lake! Her own lake! There are horses (Mariah is the friendliest) and cows (watch your step, haha). You can wander and take pictures like I did or lounge out on the patio and just relax with a book. ||||There's an outdoor hot tub for guests to use (we forgot our suits so we didn't get a chance to try it out) but it's enclosed in a lil gazebo and there's an outdoor heater so you could use it any time of year with no real issues. ||||The first time we stayed last year there was wedding on the property and it is the perfect setting for it. ||||Only drawback is the racetrack adjacent to the property but they only open on Friday nights so it's not that big of a deal.

We stayed here for our anniversary. Norma is so sweet. She and Tom took good care of us. The property is beautiful. Breakfast was delicious. Room is very clean. We have really enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back. Sally, the boxer, was super friendly.

This family run B&B has 3 guest rooms in the hosts' home. The lady that runs it is very friendly and sweet and up for chatting about life in Mitchell and Granite City. The highlight is that there is a beautiful gazebo next to the house with a hot tub, available 24 hrs. We stayed in the "Lakeview Studio", a second story room/suite with a separate entrance (numeric keycode). The property is actually on a farm, near a field which was currently mostly flooded. 10 minute drive from Edwardsville, IL, 20 minute drive from St. Louis.||||Room was very private and comfortable, with a full bed, small living/dining area and kitchenette (studio apartment style), and private bathroom with shower/tub. Many windows and charming quaint decor. The hosts are a retired woman and her adult son - we had a nice chat with the woman, who was super friendly, accommodating, and casual. Prices were reasonable/comparable to other options. They offer a homemade breakfast but we opted to go out instead. The heater in the room has a loud fan, and the house is within earshot of the freeway and railroad tracks so there is some ambient/background noise (but nothing beyond what would occur at usual hotels near freeway). The room has a lot of quaint religious items, such as a print of Jesus above the bed, and little knick-knacks with religious sayings. If this sort of thing bothers you, you won't want to stay here. Although we are not religious, it did not bother us - as I said, the owner was super nice, friendly, easy going, and I think would be easy to talk to regardless of your religious background/beliefs. Free wifi and a fridge stocked with waters and can sodas, plus coffee maker and tea bags. She even left us a snack when we arrived (bowl of fresh grapes, plate of crackers, bowl of spreadable cheese)! Overall a great experience.

Room was perfect, the property is Gorgeous. Very peaceful and relaxing. And don't forget Norma's yummy breakfasts!!! I definitely would recommend staying here. She also hosts weddings and other events.

Absolutely a beautiful bnb, norma was such a gracious hosts very clean and the best part was Sally really made our trip the gazebo with the hot tub was amazing and it was such a great experience we will definitely be back
