My husband and I had the most wonderful time staying at the Aldrich Guest House at the end of Jan this year. Robert and Douglas were impeccable hosts and really made the stay seamless and delightful. The rooms were beautiful, the breakfast was rave-worthy, little treats like fresh cookies and happy hour snacks were so fun, and the location was an easy walk to everything we wanted to visit in Galena while being in a quiet, peaceful area. Our 3rd visit to the Aldrich was perfect. Robert and Douglas make your stay so special. The breakfast is always great! Thank you for the carrot cake waffles they were so good. Cocktails in the afternoon are always different and well done. We look forward to them. The inn is always immaculately clean and fresh. The bedding is wonderful. They always try to make your stay perfect. They always have great recommendations on where to eat and things to do. We love being able to walk to downtown from the inn. At check out you get a wonderful treat that is delicious!

My wife and I had a great time at the Aldrich house. Robert and Douglas are great hosts who have had years of experience in the hospitality business...and it shows.
They are very helpful, take care of their guests and prepare delicious breakfast. I also love the 5:00 pm cocktail hour.
The rooms are nicely appointed without being overly "frilly" like a lot of B&B's can be. Clean and well decorated with various books on the history of the house and of Galena as well.
The location is great, just across the pedestrian bridge in Grant Park.
We'll be coming back!

My husband and I, along with another couple, took advantage of Aldrich's Return Guest 2-for-1 deal, offered during the month of March. If you have never stayed here, you should. This historic house is decorated with clean lines and elegant furnishings. Rooms have comfortable beds with eco-friendly heating/cooling, and are always clean and well-kept. In addition to the comfortable rooms - each with its own bathroom - Aldrich offers award-winning breakfasts, a happy hour with drinks and appetizers, free parking on the street, and 24-hour coffee and cookies. Add the knowledgeable and personable innkeepers Robert and Douglas, and you have an unforgettable experience. If you are looking for suggestions for restaurants, shopping, or something to do while in Galena, just ask one of them. They offer helpful and honest suggestions, and will even make restaurant reservations for you. This is our go-to place to stay, and once you've stayed here, I'm sure it will become yours, too.

From the time we arrived until we left, the experience was wonderful. We were contacted prior to our arrival to see if we had any questions and get an arrival time so the owners could meet us. When we arrived, we were greeted with an introduction and tour of the accommodations along with a history of the house. Rooms were very nice and bed and sheets were very comfortable. Wine and cheese get together was fun in the evening and great breakfast with all the guests. The owners were very accommodating in every aspect. The location was quiet, and you could walk across the pedestrian bridge to downtown Galena. Would recommend this bed and breakfast to anyone. Definitely 5 Star accommodations.

We recently stayed at the Aldrich again as repeat customers. The Aldrich has become our favorite bed and breakfast due to the excellent accommodations, food, and the warm hospitality provided by Robert and Douglas. These Innkeepers are truly at the top of their game from the moment you're greeted on arrival until your departure with a scrumptious take home gift. Robert and Douglas were incredible hosts. Very welcoming, had great interest and care about the town and history of Galena, including great recommendations. The location is perfect and the house is stunning and kept very clean. They had great care and interest for their guests and made sure our time there was excellent. We loved our time there!

My best friend and I just departed the Aldrich Guest House this morning as we celebrated my birthday in Galena. We are already planning our next trip back. I cannot give the innkeepers Robert and Douglas enough praise. Every single aspect is so well thought out. From the initial house tour, the rooms and amenities, the evening cocktails, and breakfast, it was all amazing. I was sitting today enjoying a cranberry orange scone that Douglas made and it transported me back to a childhood trip to London when I had my first scone. Each morning the breakfast was impeccable. I truly enjoyed the option to have my breakfast brought to my room. Robert is so knowledgeable of the area and one of the most personable and friendly innkeepers I have ever met. Have you ever met someone and you just feel their positive energy, well for Robert, he just exudes it. You come into the Aldrich House a guest, but end up leaving feeling like you gained a friend. That's how comfortable they make you feel. I highly recommend them if you are staying in Galena overnight.
