This was a lovely place to stay! We really enjoyed the breakfast each morning and the super large room (#7) we stayed in! The double sinks and space was so luxurious for two New Yorkers! It is very clean and decorated nicely.
As far as areas to improve
I will say that I think the only thing that could improve here would be the check in process. We arrived early to an empty house until we met the housekeeper 10 minutes later and it was a bit of an awkward intro to be peeping around someone’s house to get in. I think it would be really simple to fix and just give a key code to the front door the day of check in via email or text, which would also make it more secure to have that door locked more frequently. We have seen other B & Bs do it a variety of ways, and weren’t sure what to expect but after that we really enjoyed everything!!!!

This is our second time staying here and we cannot recommend this place more! It is in a beautiful and quiet residential neighborhood. Krista is a great host and goes out of her way to make sure her guests have everything they need. The rooms we have stayed in are comfortable, quiet and lovely. We look forward to coming back to Anchorage and staying here again!

Extremely happy with the room and service I experienced at House of Jade. The house is beautiful and located in a residential neighborhood so you feel safe and out of the "industrial" area. I had to check out before regular breakfast hours so the hosts were kind enough to call me a taxi in advance, and left a wonderful bagged breakfast in the fridge at no extra cost. I booked the Susitna room and found it was large, bright and private. Host and staff are friendly and available while still giving you space and privacy. Highly recommend this place for fellow solo travelers still getting their bearings.

What an absolute gem to find! I needed a room before flying home after 7 months of working through the Alaskan winter. I turned up House of Jade on a search, determined not to stay at the generic chain hotels overbooked by cruise lines in downtown Anchorage. This spot is wonderful! It's cozy, in a quiet neighborhood, so much more peaceful than downtown. The rooms are clean, well-appointed, spacious and they bend over backwards to make your stay special, whether it's packing breakfast for an early departure (that I totally spaced out on grabbing), or hilarious conversation over chocolate cupcakes, you will NOT regret, nor will you forget your stay at Alaska House of Jade. One of my favorite finds in Anchorage!

Krista is THE BEST host. The home cooked breakfast and other homemade goodies are amazing. We felt comfortable from the moment we stepped in the front door. Very comfortable beds. Krista helped us by providing a quick list of things to do and see during our stay in Anchorage. We spent one evening sitting out on the beautiful deck among the gorgeous flowers and herbs, drinking wine taking in the scenery. Krista made us feel completely at home. I strongly recommend this B & B to anyone visiting Anchorage.

We had a great stay at the Alaska House of Jade. The Bed and Breakfast is beautiful and kept immaculately clean! We stayed in the Denali Suite and it was huge. The bed was so comfortable and made up with luxurious bedding. The bathroom also had luxury towels. Krista, the host/owner is very caring and attentive to your requests. She goes above and beyond to make you feel at home. The breakfast that Krista prepares each morning is gourmet. We stayed for 4 days and each morning had a different delicacy for breakfast. The coffee prepared is fresh ground daily and so tasty. There are always homemade cookies available. We plan on returning to Alaska and definitely will stay here again.

I had to spend 3 separate nights in Anchorage on my way to other destinations. The other 2 were hotels and this was the final one. So much better at less than half the price of the hotels. The house is simply gorgeous with flowers all around. I don't know how Krista manages to look after the garden as well as the 8 bedrooms. Krista was so warm and helpful. Really like staying at a friend's home. Highly recommend.

We stayed at the House of Jade one night of our Alaska vacation. It was the perfect little gem in Anchorage. Krista and Zack were excellent hosts! We were excited that our room had been upgraded and was the perfect space for our family of 4 (we have 2 children ages 11 and 4). The place was kid friendly, with lots of outdoor space to explore around the B&B. The breakfast we had there was by far the best meal that we had on the entire trip! We are gluten and dairy free, so appreciated the accommodations they made for breakfast. We had the absolute best scones! When we ever get back to Alaska, we will be back!
