This might be my favorite B&B I've ever been to. We stayed in Albert's Glen, which was spacious and filled with thoughtful touches. But what really makes this a special place is the hosts, Sandy and Mark. They are friendly and kind, and taught us a lot about the history of the building and of Galena. Breakfast in the old brewing room is a special experience and not to be missed. I believe it is only offered on Sundays, and is free if you stay at least 2 nights. Can't wait to come back!

Such a great experience, especially Sunday morning breakfast! We were the only guests the weekend we stayed and felt so special. The distance to the Main Street and other activities in town is lovely and would be walkable in nicer weather. We will definitely stay again if we go back to Galena.

Location is about half mile up Spring Street- easy walk for sure. The room was wonderful for three people.
Breakfast from the owners was fabulous! Honestly one of the best omelets I've ever had.
We would definitely stay here again, quiet and just far enough to enjoy a small town feel but close enough to enjoy the party that is downtown.

Beautiful and creatively designed space in great location. The artwork was a lovely addition and the space was very unique and uniquely furnished. It was a particular treat to rest our bones on the hand-designed bed made from old timber that had grown on the same parcel of land. We enjoyed the sauna!

We love Abe's. It's close enough to our house for a convenient weekend get away. The room is aways clean and fresh smelling. The location is close enough to downtown to make the trip easy. Parking is a little tight but it's not too bad. We've stayed there many times and hope to geo back many more in the future.

Bring your ear plugs! We stayed in the ice house (#5). The room was large and clean but the construction traffic is routed right past the house. The walls are 18" thick but any vehicle larger than a pickup RATTLES THE WINDOWS! The traffic slowed by midnight but started again at 4am. Also NO BREAKFAST ANYMORE! The owner said all references to this amenity had been removed but here it remains. This guest house is more like a VRBO. You are given a door code and you are on your own. Not the experience we were looking for.

We stayed in Rudolph’s Retreat for two nights last week. The set-up was awesome with the bedroom, sitting room and private bath. Having a fridge was an added bonus so we could keep some snacks and things for sandwiches. Enjoyed watching the neighboring deer in the evenings from the little patio. Charles and Sandy were super hosts who prepared great food and served in a unique atmosphere. Lots of history shared and a few ghost stories for a bonus! Close walk to Main Street for a very fair price! Extra precautions with current COVID concerns. We would definitely stay again!

The hosts were so easy to communicate from the very beginning. Check in was quick and easy, the room was comfortable & cozy, and breakfast in the grotto was DELICIOUS. Abe's is conveniently located--just a short walk to downtown Galena. The room had everything we needed and more; we loved every minute of our stay. This was our first trip to Galena, and we loved it--largely in part to our excellent hosts! Will definitely be returning to Abe's in the future.
