I live 5 minutes away and, having some emergency work done on the house, needed a place for myself, my mother, and our cat to spend a few hours of a stormy afternoon. Making the best of it, I started thinking of it as a chance to check out the local accomodation so I'd know whether to recommend it to friends and family. But although they had availability and their page said "pet friendly", I was told they would accept dogs but not a cat, even for a resident willing to pay extra. When pressed for an explanation, they said they "do not have a cleaning protocol in place for [cats]." Obviously I can only speak to the service and not the quality of the lodging, but what a disappointment having to go outside the community on the grounds that my four legged companion doesn't bark.

Stayed at The Fainting Couch on Cobb Mountain to celebrate my birthday with friends, and the experience was a delight! The rooms had everything we needed, and I had one of the best nights of sleep in a long time—I’m curious to know what mattresses they use! The luxurious touches throughout were so well thought through. As someone who was also working remotely during my stay, I appreciated the beautiful setting right outside my window. Whether it was walking in the nearby forest, hiking, or eating fresh blackberries, the surroundings were a perfect escape. I especially loved the outdoor spaces to work from, whether by the pool or in the stunning Chandelier Park. This place offers such an upscale experience at the right price, and I can’t wait to return!

The Fainting Couch is an incredible motel! The interior design, decor and aesthetic of this place has made it one of my favorite places to stay on the west coast. Plus, the friendly and quaint town of Cobb is a breath of fresh air away from the hustle and bustle of the city.
Being only a short 100 miles from the city, it's a perfect relaxing getaway. 10/10!

Wonderful gem in Lake County! The rooms were quirky and unique— meticulously decorated and clean. The claw tub was icing on the cake after a day of hiking.

It’s a perfect getaway!

We stayed here during our trip to Harbin Hot Springs and we loved it. The rooms are very nicely decorated and the place is quiet, perfect for a weekend getaway.
I forgot something in the room and the staff was super helpful making sure I got my stuff back. Amazing service.

I really do think this place is a hidden gem. I’ve been staying in Kelseyville in air b&bs for the last six months and met many people who have told me this place is up and running again, but weren’t sure what it was like. I’ll be happy to go back to all of them and tell them how great it is. The people running it and bringing it back to life have been lovely. The rooms have been redone and are great (I’ve stayed in two), love the color choices and thoughtful decor, all new bathrooms and fixtures and a great big shower, it’s quiet and serene and really lovely here. The restaurant across the street has reopened and has been really good (we’ve eaten there three times), and the golf course across the street should be open by next year. The market down the street has just about everything you need for your stay and the pizza place and coffee shop are good too!
I think this space would be amazing for retreats (and am totally going to suggest it to some of my friends), or family vacations.
Can’t wait to come and stay again in a month and then again next year. Really looking forward to it.
Thanks for a wonderful place to come back to at the end of my workday.

The perfect romantic getaway. My boyfriend and I stayed in the Romantic Clawfoot Retreat. Love the entire vibe of the space. Moody. Modern. Sexy. The fireplace was a nice touch and we most definitely used it every night. The clawfoot bathtub is a must, plus, I am a sucker for a bubble bath. Plenty of hot water, which I know can sometimes be an issue. Not here. We sat in the tub for hours with a glass of wine in hand.

A small detail I highly appreciated was the dimming lights. I am very sensitive to bright lights and when I’m at home I like to keep most of my lights off so I don’t get overstimulated. Every light in the hotel room could be adjusted and dimmed, and I was overwhelmingly grateful for this feature.

I appreciate the Airbnb style check-in. Very convenient not having to do a traditional check-in, you just get your special code, and use it to enter your room when you arrive.

Quiet area. We went for a short hike one morning behind the elementary school. It was giving very Pacific Northwest vibes with a beautifully eerie morning fog.

Very much a pizza town, if you’re looking for high end dining, we drove down to Calistoga for a day to explore more food and drink experiences. Our favorite stop was The Calistoga Depot. The owner, Michael, gave us the tour and backstory to all of the train car renovations, each having their own theme. Very cool spot to stop to eat, drink, and connect with friends, especially if you’re a history nerd like myself.

We didn’t get a chance to book a spa experience, so that is top of the list when we visit in the future. I am excited to come back and experience the mineral mud baths and hot springs.

All in all, highly recommend visiting The Fainting Couch for a quiet getaway. It’s the perfect sanctuary away from home.

Omg! This place is so cool! The room was perfect and had the coolest style. Very fun vibe.
The service was great. They communicate very well and the booking, check in, need requests plus check out was a breeze. All by text and links which to me is super easy and streamlined! They have nailed it.
The location is awesome if you are into being in a rad quiet area. There’s quick hikes right out of the front door that I personally went on and it was cool. I saw wildlife and learned about this fire that ripped through the area in 2015.
The locals I met were super cool.
It’s a wild twisty ride to Calistoga but it has great views and the ride is fun to get to that area.
There are a lot of great places and food in the area making this a perfect spot to stay and make your base camp during your excursion!!
