We had so much fun this weekend at the harbor hotel! Perfect getaway in the winter time not crowded. The pool was warm and the hot tub was perfect. Every single staff member I came in contact with was extremely friendly and accommodating. The complimentary coffee On each floor in the morning was an added, plus! It was set up very well & The kids loved the hot cocoa! The rooms were very clean, and the bedding was like sleeping on a cloud! 10/10 recommend!

Loved our room with balcony and river view. Unfortunately it was bitter cold in December but room rates are very affordable off season. Very walkable to shops and restaurants that were open. King size comfortable bed with tons of pillows. Lots of extras vanity area with mirror, wine glasses, tongs, wine opener, evening turndown. Loved the Christmas decor! They even delivered a microwave to our room to heat up leftovers at 11pm. Enjoyed Christmas cocktails at the bar both evenings, walked the town and enjoyed festive lights!

We had a river view room with a balcony and it was exquisite! Well appointed, super clean, very comfortable. The grounds are magnificent with a very large patio and fire pits. The check in staff were friendly and efficient. I went to the bar in the evening and had several nice conversations with guests and locals. Met the person who owns the gift and bagel shop across the parking lot and had one of their bagels (they boil and bake them!) in the morning. Delicious. Highly recommend this property and the village of Clayton!

Lovely hotel! We were there in October and the view from the balcony was serene. Sitting on the patio by the fire pit was very comfortable. The beds were comfortable. The bathrooms were nice with enough room in them. I could fit nicely in the shower and raise my arms without my elbows hitting the walls. The coffee service was in the halls from 7am to 11. We requested and got a microwave for an evening cup of tea. The staff were all very friendly. The most difficult part about it was leaving. We used the pool which was quiet and pleasant.

I stayed at the 1000 Islands Harbor Hotel while taking tours on the St Lawrence river. There were hotels closer to the tour boats, however, this hotel was more in line with what I am used to.
There was a slight housekeeping issue with my room when I first checked in, the front desk supervisor was professional, understanding and resolved the issue immediately, which left me satisfied.
I stayed in both the Commodore Suite and the larger Admiral Suite, they were beautiful. The rooms are well appointed with mini fridge, microwave, whirlpool tub and a roomy shower. It was really nice catching a glimpse of a cargo ship sailing by in the early morning.
The outdoor space with firepits was a welcome retreat and kept the chill at bay. A warm coffee, tea, or cocktail, make it even better.
The restaurant staff at the in house Seaway Grille was very friendly and the food was delicious. I ordered dessert and coffee at the hotels 1000 Island Bar and was met with the same warm welcome that was apparent throughout the facility.
If you are looking for a more upscale stay, this hotel is worth it. Thanks again to the staff for making my stay memorable.

What a beautiful hotel! Gorgeous view of the sunset from our corner balcony. Great views of the water. Spacious room. The restaurant was very nice, however, they were short staffed the night we were there. It took over an hour after being seated to receive our food. It was delicious but after an hour - when it is 8:30pm, I was too tired to eat. But our room was fabulous.

One complaint - apparently this hotel has a lot of theft of small stuff like a sachet in the closet, a notepad by the phone, pillows on the bed, bathrobes in the closet, bottle opener, etc. They post a list of the cost of each item which you will be charged if the item is missing. It is a nice hotel, but when I read that list - it felt very petty and unnecessary. If the hotel has that much of a problem with theft, just calculate the cost and add a $1 to everyone's room charge, but don't make me feel like a thief because someone else who comes is a thief. It felt very petty for a nice hotel.

Beautiful Hotel, but Disappointing Experience with Room Cleanliness

We recently stayed at the 1000 Island Harbor Hotel in Clayton, NY, and overall, the hotel has a lot going for it. The location is stunning, offering incredible views of the river, and the grounds are well-maintained. The staff were generally friendly and helpful, and the amenities—such as the restaurant was top-notch.

However, we had an unfortunate experience with our room. Very late on the day of our arrival, we discovered that the linen on the bed wasn’t clean, it had stains, strands of hair, worn out particles rubber/plastic from something, which was quite disappointing for a hotel of this caliber. We immediately informed the front desk, but after waiting for some time, we were left to change the linen ourselves. This certainly detracted from what should have been a relaxing stay.

It’s clear that this hotel has a lot of potential, but attention to detail—especially with room cleanliness—is crucial. I hope this was a one-off issue, and that future guests don’t have to deal with the same inconvenience.

Let me start off by saying that the Harbor Hotel is a beautiful venue for a wedding. It offers a fantastic view of the St. Lawrence River and a beautiful outdoor ceremony setting.
With that said, it's unfortunate I won't be having my wedding there..
Recently engaged, we saw this venue online and fell in love with the pictures. We reached out for a week leaving voicemails and return #'s, a week passed and no call back.
We were on a trip to the 1000 Islands to look at a separate venue, we decided to stop in to see if a tour could be arranged and to our excitement a lady (who was very apologetic for the lack of communication) gave us a tour and we fell in love with it again. She gave us the business cards of the people in charge of events, we left and made the decision to make this our venue on the way home.
We emailed the venue the following day and received an email back with detail about price etc.. we scheduled a call for later on the week, the scheduled time came and went with no one reaching out. We decided to give it a few days chalking it up to them being busy but remained sure about the venue.
After almost 2 weeks we reached out again and received an email from someone saying that they apologized for everything and they would be calling later that afternoon...
The call never came.
I don't write reviews often but we are very disappointed with everything. My fiancee absolutely loved the venue and I wish we could make this work.
I'm only going to try so hard to give a business thousands of dollars.
