I used the day spa for the Mud-Mineral-Massage treatment only. This was my first mud bath and I loved it. It felt strange at first, but after a few minutes I settled in and truly enjoyed it. I only wish it had been a little longer. The attendant asked "Ready to get out?" and I guess I should've said no! But I took it to mean it was time to get out. The shower to rinse of the mud was perfect, then the mineral bath would have been lovely except the tub was too long to accommodate a smaller person (5'1") comfortably. It needs some sort of grip mats or something so that it's possible to recline in place even if you're not 7 feet tall. That made it less than relaxing as I could only really sit up in the bath. The massage afterwards was wonderful, it could have been deeper pressure but they charge extra for that. But it was still nice and relaxing. The location is perfect and staff was very kind. I would go back if they figure out the mineral tub situation. The mud bath was magical.

Comfortable, quiet rooms. Friendly, helpful and efficient staff. We loved the pools - one outdoor with a great hot tub and one indoor pool. Saunas too. A bit dated but charming, nonetheless. Priced well. We got a kitchenette and loved our experience.

We have been coming to Roman Spa for 15 or more years, even bringing family members with us on some visits. Roman Spa is still our favorite place to stay when we visit Napa Valley.

Most of the time, we utilize the spa services, but this visit was very disappointing. The receptionist was quite unfriendly and failed to provide any information regarding changes in payment policies. After booking our appointment, she mentioned we would receive an email confirmation. I did receive the email, but to be honest, I didn't read it thoroughly because I assumed it was just a confirmation.

After our treatment, we tipped the therapist in cash. When we asked the same receptionist about the total cost after using our $75 certificate, the amount seemed off, so I requested clarification. She informed us that all spa treatments automatically include a 20% gratuity. We were in shock. Why should we have to pay a tip in advance before receiving the services? What if we weren't satisfied or only partially satisfied? I strongly believe customers should have the right to decide how much to tip.

This policy feels sneaky and dishonest. The receptionist should have informed us of this at the time of booking, rather than after we completed our treatment. It made us feel very uncomfortable. I'm not even sure if it's legal to charge a tip in this manner.

We will not be using the spa services during our future stays.
PS. reply to the owner: - We visited the spa to relax and enjoy ourselves, not to worry about fine print or additional charges. The receptionist should have provided all the necessary information upfront, but she failed to mention the extra 20% fee, which could vary based on our experience. Additionally, she was not at her desk when we were leaving. We waited for 10 to 15 minutes for clarification, but ultimately left and returned later for answers. It’s not just about paying for the service; it’s about honesty and transparency.

This is the second time I have stayed at the Roman Spa Hot Springs Resort. The rooms are very clean and comfortable, the service was wonderful and very friendly, and the location is perfect. The first time I stayed here with my family, we had a great experience. Recently, I came by myself and my stay was perfect from arrival to departure. I tried mud baths and a massage. Both were amazing. The spa is very clean and the staff are very responsive and provide wonderful service.

The service was very high caliber in every respect. Before my trip I inquired about the weather and about local events and other details. The staff patiently answered my questions and helped me arrange all the details of my stay. When I arrived, everything was smooth, and when I checked out, I had a questions about some of the charges and the staff immediately clarified everything. Overall, I found the staff to be very well trained, take pride in their work, and just friendly overall.

The location is wonderful. Parking is convenient and free, restaurants are nearby, and there is a great grocery store just two blocks away.

The pool and facilities are extremely clean and comfortable.

I have extremely high standards and I will choose to stay at the Roman Spa again. Next time I will bring friends and family. I highly recommend staying at the Roman Spa if you want to experience the charm and beauty of Calistoga and wine country. My stay was worth every cent.

My husband and I spent our wedding anniversary weekend here. Spa experience was amazing and very relaxing. The pool was clean and well maintained. The hotel is comfortable and feels like home. All the staffs are friendly and the cute cat manager patrols at night. We will definitely come back.

My husband's and mine's go to resort for a romantic stay. We come every year for our anniversary. It is a peaceful resort. The hot springs pool/hot tub are so relaxing. The Roman Spa Resort also offers spa packages. Lots of wineries in the area to set the mood!

Enjoyed our stay at the Roman Spa. Fourth year in a row for my wife and myself. Great place to relax in the heated pools as well as the well manicured grounds. Great spaces to hang out within the resort with tables, water features, bbq grills, nooks. Feels like you are in a garden. Very friendly staff as always and looking forward to our return next year.

The place has a nice layout the garden is lovely, the gardener is great too.||We will tell our friends about this place too. We love how close we are to downtown, all the people are great it is a great place to stay!!! Stupid REVIEW won't let me wright a short review!! U need to change that!!
