Beautiful hotel with the best location you could ask for in San Jose. We were upgraded to a studio suite, which was full of details we absolutely loved, and the Westin mattress is as good as it gets for a hotel stay. Special thanks to Denise and Linn for their incredible service! We’ve decided to make this our new home-away-from-home in San Jose.

I have no idea how this hotel can be so highly rated. yes, it has a great location in downtown San Jose. But that's where the good features end. On check-in they "warn" you that this is a "classic" Westin - uh oh, first bad signal. Rooms are tiny and mine had a wonderful sewer gas smell. The desk sits at a table height of about 36 inches - way too high to work at since you have a "classic" non-adjustable chair. One availabel plug - one - at the desk. No M Club to support elite Bonvoy members. No room to work whatsoever. If you are in San Jose and expecting to get work done, I do not recommend this hotel.

Some of the best beds I've ever slept on. Room felt a bit dated but the bathroom was modern. The staff were very firlendly and helpful. Overall a nice stay.

Great location. Room was clean and comfortable. There is no real bar at this hotel. The bar at the restaurant is basically useless, but there are plenty of places just one street over. Marriott Platinum only gets a $15 credit for breakfast each day, so it won't cover a real breakfast.

Extremely Disappointing Stay – No Follow-Up, No Accountability

As a loyal member of this hotel chain, I had much higher expectations for my stay at the Westin San Jose — but I left extremely disappointed and frustrated. I experienced several issues during my visit and have now gone over two months without a single response from management, despite leaving multiple messages and requests for a call back.

First, housekeeping removed all my used towels but never replaced them with clean ones. I only discovered this when I returned from work completely exhausted and had to call and wait for replacements — a basic service that should not have been overlooked.

Even worse, I was repeatedly disturbed by loud and explicit sexual noises from the room next door. I had hoped to rest during the day due to jet lag, but the noise made it impossible. It continued into the night and again in the early morning, waking me up. I called the front desk, but they couldn’t move me or offer any real solution, so nothing changed. For a business traveler trying to get rest, this was unacceptable.

What upsets me most is the lack of follow-up or accountability. As a member of this hotel group, I expected at least a courtesy response — but after two months, still nothing. The walls are paper thin, the service was inattentive, and there was no effort to resolve or even acknowledge my concerns.

I would not recommend this hotel to anyone seeking rest, professionalism, or a family-friendly environment. This experience has truly made me reconsider my loyalty to the brand.

We loved our stay on Christmas at The Westin San Jose.
First of all, it has old world charm, I had stopped by when I booked it and looked around… I thought it was lovely and immaculate. The real reason I went ahead and made a reservation was because the young man at the front desk went above and beyond. His customer service was professional and so helpful. So, shout out to Chris at the front desk. When we arrived they upgraded us to an absolutely beautiful suite which they thought we’d be more comfortable in. The room was so clean and the bed was super. Also the valet guy, Jackson, was so nice! Outstanding customer experience for sure.

Pass if you can||||Haven't met a front desk staff so underwhelming and uninterested in greeting guests or helping with basic items. Beautiful hotel but lacks the service level to go with it's charmed history or Westin level service.||||Checkin was a robotic experience and, on three separate occasions, the front desk team couldn't even vibe with me on the beauty and history of this gem of a hotel. No one knew the history or could speak to it. A disappointment.||||Valet guys up front were really good (one of the few times a 3rd party firm's service was better than hotel staff). No followups from front desk for securing feather free room.||||The Titanium benefit for full breakfast was not offered and only a $15 voucher which can't even buy a fruit salad. They didn't honor the Guaranteed Welcome Gift ("1,000 points per stay or amenity per stay or breakfast in restaurant per night of stay for Member” Welcome Guarantee). This was one of the two times in my 30 years and 2,700 nights of travel I'd ask for the $100 just on principle. They never did give the $100. Not worth it.||||Two requests for the GM to contact went unanswered. I'm guessing the GM didn't get the message, or if he/she did, surprised they didn't call me.||||There are other choices where your service and loyalty will get you further.
