Jackie at Margarita Adventures, who gave us an amazing nature tour or Margarita Ranch, suggested we stop by and taste and we are very glad we did.

Christina at Ancient Peaks recommended we try the Renegade blend which was smooth and delicious, and then the 2020 Oyster Ridge that was amazing.

We will be back!

We stopped here for a wine tasting before our zip line adventure across the street. We enjoyed the wine and food. The pace of service is relaxed so don't come if you are in a hurry. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the company of your party as you indulge with good food and wine. Definitely recommend having a tasting and the charcuterie board. Wonderful place to visit!

We stopped in for lunch and ended up doing a wine tasting that lasted several hours and took home about 6 bottles- what a blast! Four adults and 3 kids can be a handful but the service was great. Kelby was attentive and sweet and even took the time to speak Spanish to our kids. He was very knowledgeable about all the varietals- the merlot and rose being our favorites. For lunch we got the potato and leak soup, the chicken sandwiches, BLT and hummus plates all very tasty. Kelby was great with getting the kids burgers and grilled cheeses and helping split up ice cream even though there was no kids menu. The bill was reasonable considering there was 7 of us there for several hours- and this ended up being the highlight of our trip. Would definitely go again if we are ever back in Santa Margarita!

The ancoent peaks Winery is a truly nice and charming winery. We as south african people know how to do-make-and sell wine to the rest of the world. Ancient knows that at all as well. The 2012 Cab soup was a truly superb expression we drink in Atascadero with Friends

Wonderful experience! I remember visiting Ancient Peaks Winery years ago when it was only a tasting room. Today, the tasting room has expanded, and now includes a full restaurant with a great selection of options, as well as the wines to taste or by the glass. The wines are well made, and there are a sizable selection of different varieties (including now three Italian varieties) at a wide range of price points for all budgets. The tasting room is welcoming and friendly, and the service has always been exceptional. Santa Margarita is just 15 minutes from San Luis Obispo, but the little town seems like a throwback to another era, and you can sit outside on the patio and enjoy the small town feel. Our server shared with us the interesting history of the land and soils of the Santa Margarita Ranch, including fossilized oyster shells that help deliver some of the characteristic flavors of the wines we tasted. Definitely worth a visit.

Always the best time here, whether celebrating a special occasion, or simply enjoying a wine tasting experience.... The staff does a great job introducing the wine(s) to new guests, and they greet longtime members by name. It's difficult to choose a favorite item from the Cafe menu, and the wines are hard to beat.

What a great find! This tasting room is just minutes from downtown SLO. Our server, Christina, was personable & friendly. We happened to try today their house clam chowder, & we have to report, it’s the best clam chowder we had in the last 2 weeks of our travels in the area! Pairing the wines with a charcuterie board was light, easy & delicious. ❤️ you can bet we’ll be back when we come back the central Coast another time.
