One of the best places I have stayed in a long time! As a couple who loves to travel, we look for a perfect combo of price, comfort, location and amenities.... This hotel ticks all the boxes!! Courtesy upgrade to one of the suites, free happy hour drink, amazingly friendly and helpful staff, free unexpected amenities including great coffee and snacks! The town surrounding is right around the corner and has no end of quaint shops and amazing eating locations. Beautiful surroundings! Highly recommend to all!

This place was a Great Find! After a long day at the Hurst Castle, this was a Fantastic place to call home for a too short of a stay. From the time I arrived, until the time I left, I was completely surprised by everything. First, it is perfectly located to walk to many shops and dining. The service was fantastic. They offered so many unexpected extras that I was not expecting, like a quaint little happy hour with specialty cocktails and food that was all included. There was a beautiful main community kitchen that stocked snack foods and beverages, again all included. The outside garden area and fit pit gathering circle was a really special treat. All that and I haven't even got to my room yet! Needless to say, my room was AMAZING! I had a Beautiful top floor sweet with a fuĺl livingroom that was bigger than most other hotels standard rooms. It had large windows with a lovely view of the little town area and a well stocked kitchenette. The bedroom was large too with a Super Comfy King bed and a fireplace. The bathroom was fabulously designed and plenty of hot water and a plus for local toiletries. Overall, I give this place a 10 Star review and a YES, I would stay again.

Staff is only available at the premises from 10am to 7pm.
I did not find this information anywhere on their web page.
On Booking.com the info is 10am to 8pm. Availability until 8pm is also given on the recorded phone message when you try to call them and they dont pick up in the moment.

After 7pm guests can only call if emergency happens.

So not only no staff is available on the premises after 7pm, no staff is available at all, even for a question by a phone, unless it is an emergency.

This is not a very customer friendly policy, especially if you are just checking in. Before I have never stayed in a place, where nobody could be reached for a regular question at least until 9pm.

HAPPY HOUR IS 5PM TO 7PM, BUT NOBODY WILL TELL YOU ABOUT IT

Hotel offers Happy Hour every day from 5pm to 7pm. We only stayed for 1 night and before we arrived, I called the hotel to doublecheck that we can check in until 8pm. Thats when I was told that the check in in person is only possible until 7pm. I wish that the person on the phone had told me about the Happy Hour happening until 7pm - it would have been nice to meet other guests and get a drink. We found out about it from a "Welcome Letter" they left for us in a package with the keys. We arrived at 7.10pm.

NO COMPLIMENTARY WINE

On their web page they list "complimentary coffee" and "complimentary wine" as their amenities. Another information that is not correct. We got the coffee, but not the wine. When we asked about it the next day, we were told that the complimentary wine is only for the happy hour (that nobody told us about, and we stayed only 1 day). However, that is not what they write on their web page. No time frame for complimentary wine is given.

NOTHING CHANGED IN ROOM 16

I read a review about room n 16, especially missing curtains and bright table lamps. It was written few week ago from another guest. Nothing has changed. Room n 16 is a corner room with 2 queen beds. In the living room part of it the glass table lamps look pretty, but when you turn them on, you find out that they are horrible, because the light is too sharp.
Outside of the room is a sitting area for all the hotel guests. Luckily is was raining that day, otherwise it would be disturbing. Nevertheless the lights in this outdoors area are left on all night long. It would have been nice to have them off by 10pm, or for the room to have a curtain (as the other guest mentioned in their review).

WELCOME LETTER WAS NOT VERY WELCOMING

Because we arrived 10 minutes after 7pm, we did not meet any staff. They left us a "Welcome Letter", which was not very informative. For example, on the day of our check out, I learnt that the hotel has a common room with the library, complimentary tea and coffee, and where that room is.

Do not expect to take a nice shower, as the shower pressure is very poor.

You will hear your upstairs neighbors - their every footstep.

On the other hand, the room was clean and cozy. We heated it up quite fast. Instructions for the fire place would have been nice, but oh well. Bed if very soft, but comfortable. Cambria is a nice small town and the hotel has a great location, short walk to the town, and surrounded by greenery.

We will be happy to stay again, preferably in the upstairs room.

Perfect spot to immerse yourself in a beautiful historic coastal town. Loved everything about the property- location, amenities, friendly staff- was like visiting a family's beautiful home. Close to Hearst Castle, hiking trails, great restaurants within a few blocks.

A hotel room with character, although wear & tear is visible. They use physical keys, not key cards. Large spacious suite with a bedroom, bathroomand living room. It's, quiet, good location near restaurants, bars, walking trails. Happy hour with comp drinks motivates you meet the other visitors. I will go again next time I'm in town.

We had a great, spacious suite at a reasonable price. Great location, wonderful staff: Christian was very helpful, let us check in early and is also a wonderful mixologist: there is happy hour from 5 to 7 PM and they offer up to 2 delicious cocktails per person! Also many other amenities, we will be back for sure.

This was one of the best vacation experiences I have had. Natasha checked us in and made our drinks later that night at the bar. She was a great hostess and bartender. She definitely made the birthday getaway special with some wine and good times. The location was perfect and all the people in town were so friendly and nice. I will definitely be coming back here for a little get away in the future!

I have never reviewed or been compelled to review a hotel room but this was absolutely one of the worst travel experiences of our lives. We called ahead to ask about early check in all morning and no one answered the phone for hours, then we got to our room and the carpets in both areas of the room were DISGUSTINGLY dirty, like dark grey and brown, around everywhere but under the bed where you could see the original color. We had our young child with us and couldn’t imagine letting him loose in there, absolutely filthy. Like probably from having animals in the room but can’t they bring in a carpet cleaner every once in a while and clean up so it’s not literally one giant gross stain of filth? That’s just absolutely not what a hotel floor should look like at this price! And when I picked up the rug to see if it was clean enough that we could ask for the rugs to be taken out it was just covered in filth like no one cared to either clean them or change them out when they were clearly soiled. We ended up packing up and leaving immediately and found another hotel up the road and now are stuck paying for two nights for a place we didn’t even set foot in for more than 5 minutes. And I tried reaching out via email, phone multiple times again but no one answers, and even in person and no one was at the front desk. Oh and not only was it not refundable when we booked ahead and assumed the space would be clean, but when I tried to explain all of this I still haven’t heard from anyone all day and no one even cared to respond. Just the worst experience ever and I’m sharing so other parents don’t end up having a stressful trip like we did trying to find a place clean enough for their toddler to walk around freely. Save your money and go somewhere else!
