Everything was great! The rooms were spacious with a beautiful view of the golf course. This place was enjoyable.
The only downside is that dogs aren’t allowed. 😥

One of the better layouts in SD county with some great risk reward holes like 5, 11 and 16. Unfortunately the conditions aren’t great these days due to a pending decision on a renovation. However, since they do dynamic pricing, if you can get a rate under $50 I think it’s worth the trek. Greens are in decent shape but the tee boxes could use some work so you’ll just have to work with it for the time being.

Course - decent, with good value. Clientele - godawful. The foursome behind us urinated at a tee box, mocked my pregnant wife, and then tried to pick a fight with me in the parking lot. Stay classy, Santee!

Looked nice on the images online but was truly one of the worst conditions I've seen a golf course in. On top of that, the guy who checked us in let us play in a 5 some as long as we kept the pace, then the Marshall told us to break it up and said his employees "would never say that". Crazy how paying customers are treated here.

I have been playing at Carlton oaks course for almost a year now and have absolutely no intentions on changing it. With a very positive and supportive staff coupled with a beautiful course that never disappoints I could not be more happier. I recommend an early team Time as you will see a beautiful sunrise over the mountains and possible wildlife that enhabits the property. The course is very well kept and maintains the perfect play speed where I am left never feeling rushed or waiting around. If your new to San Diego or a lifelong resident I strongly recommend you spend your weekends here.

Course transitions are very rugged and not cart friendly. Greens were nice. Carts should have navigation for the price.

This is a review of the golf course, not the resort. The property is a dump. Left in a state of disrepair ahead of a future renovation. Truly an awful golf course in terrible condition. Where there is grass, it’s inconsistent turf at best. Otherwise it’s dirt, mud, gravel, or animal habitat. Pace of play was brutal, over 2.5 hours to play the front nine early on a Sunday morning. I truly cannot comprehend why anyone would choose to play here a second time. I made the mistake playing here once and absolutely will not go back.

Very disappointing golf course. Bunkers with out sand, more gopher holes on the fairway than seems reasonable, and my very personal favorite they close the range randomly with out notifying the public. On bad weather days I get it, but if you plan to push earth around, post it on the website!!!

If my review seems unreasonable, I invite you to play a round and enjoy the unique experience of driving off the cart path and onto the fairway where you've hit a wonderful tee shot only to bounce around in the cart due to the gopher holes, only to find your ball sitting in a puddle of mud, surrounded by other puddles of mud.

I live close by and would LOVE to take advantage of this course, but it's just not worth the frustration of a badly neglected property.
