Awesome place! Love the atmosphere, grabbed a hot black tea with honey semi sweet to refresh- enjoyed it. Seen the menu and want to come back a try the food, place looks very cozy and nice. Didn’t have time for photos…next time!

So I am editing my review after visiting a second time and trying their breakfast Beria burrito, here’s a photo of it and it was delicious! Definitely worth coming here! As always the atmosphere was peaceful and very pleasant to eat breakfast and drink a cappuccino which was also great, thank you!

1 week ago I visited this cafe for the first time. I ordered their drip coffee, which was flavorful all on its own. I didn't even need to add a single ounce of sugar, honey, cinnamon etc. The two ladies working that day were courteous and welcoming.

First time visitor but very sad to report I had a horrible experience in this cafe today. In short, we were sold (possibly days?) old bakery, one of these even had custard that went sour!! and I really hope we don't get sick after eating it. We had to throw it all away.
In more detail, I ordered some danishes and was asked if I want them warmed up. I responded no, I don't want them warmed up, I'm getting these as a takeout. While waiting for the coffee to be made the lady packed the bakery to a box but didn't give the box to me for some reason. I asked for the box so my child can have a quick snack while we wait for the coffee, the lady said oh I was just keeping these for you in the warmer. All that after I was very clear I didn't want these warmed up. I thought that was odd at that stage. Only later after tasting the bakery myself did I realize the lady possibly knew all along she was selling us horrible old bakery and was possibly trying to make it less obvious by trying to warm it up, even despite us not wanting the bakery warmed up. At least that's how it came across to me. All that while seeing me in her cafe with my very young child who was eating this old bakery and was possibly risking their health by doing so.
If that's the case, it's dishonest and very disappointing business practice and I will definitely never be coming back here to support this way of doing business. If your bakery is so old it's not only disgusting, with very stale dough, but also actually a health risk with custard that went sour, do the right thing and don't sell it to endanger your customers' health.
The coffee was mediocre too.

Clean cafe adorned with paintings, good food, and friendly staff.

I was greeted by a very enthusiastic man when I walked in. I asked what he recommended and he directed me to the empanadas, so I ordered one of the beef-filled ones. I also wanted a non-caffeinated drink, and I was directed to the drink fridge, where I grabbed a bottle of apple juice. I also ordered a chocolate chip cookie without nuts. My total was $14.84 and I had my food inside.

The juice tasted as expected and wasn't expired. The cookie arrived slightly warm, on a white plate, with a slice of orange as a garnish. It was a sizeable cookie with a thick center and nearly burnt edges. Chilling the dough before baking would've made them turn out better. Still, the cookie was pretty good and had plenty of chocolate chips. I thought the slice of orange was kind of weird. The empanada came quite warm and had a great crispy exterior. You could tell they put some effort into sealing it. The interior had something reminiscent of a stew, with ground beef and some vegetables. It was like an exceptional Hot Pocket.

The interior is very welcoming and so are the staff. A decent meal for $15 isn't bad. Overall, I recommend checking this newly opened place out.

I’ve been coming to Tabita’s for almost two years for their delicious empanadas. It would not be fair for me to give any lower than 4 stars considering that they are some of the tastiest empanadas I have ever tried, but their service could be better. Several times I’ve come in around 9am and been told to wait 30 minutes for an empanada. I don’t know what their prep process is, but this seems avoidable, especially considering empanadas are their most popular breakfast item. Also, please stop putting paper napkins inside the to-go bag with the empanada! It keeps sticking to the empanada and I end up eating chunks of napkin.

I was looking for a space to reset emotionally...work was really stressful and I was getting into a thought spiral.

Enter Tabita's Cafe - it's a calm, peaceful, and bright space with cozy jazz music, a very clean interior, and amazing empanadas and breakfast burritos.

After enjoying a PorkyWow (hehe such a cute name) Carnitas Burrito and a Chai Latte with Oat Milk, I felt comforted and a little less despondent.

My troubles are still there, but I feel I'll be able to face them.

Come by for a cozy slice-of-life moment, if you need a reset from how heavy life can be.

This is a healing space! Thank you!

P.S. The owner says that they're going to be "debut-ing" chicharrones at the Dec 10, 2023 Taraval Holiday Street Fair, and will have warm lentil and veggies soup, so come check them out!!
