We stayed at Virginia Creek last minute on a Saturday night in March as we realized it was too cold to go camping. It was one of the few places with availability and what a lucky find! Our creek-side cabin was super comfortable and clean. The food was excellent (homestyle comfort food). We really enjoyed sitting outside with the fire pit in the evening.

We liked it so much that we stayed an additional night. When we came to leave, our car wouldn't start and the hotel staff helped jump-start it and get us on the road. Thank you so much for the outstanding service!

Small suggestion: It would be helpful if there were some plates and cutlery in the cabin as there was a microwave and a fridge but nothing in the cupboards.

Rooms were decent and the place was nice and clean. Overall would stay again. Location is questionable but we went to visit Bodie so it was great. Big truck trout in the little creek. Only negative was ordered food to go and it was not that great and not hot at all. Water pressure was low too.

Driven by this establishment quite a few times and had lunch once and it was fantastic. This time we actually stayed in one of the rooms and had some food in the restaurant.

We were in number four and it had a bed with a chair and high ceiling Spacious bathroom with plenty of heat. It was well insulated and even though we were near 395 you couldn’t really hear any cars going by.

We went to the restaurant to have a drink and an appetizer. We had the house Chardonnay, which was quite tasty and we had an order of Buffalo wings, which was made to order and just the right spiciness.

It was cold so we ate inside but you can see there is outside seating as well as a trout for where they grow trout. If you’re staying in a room, they give you some food so you can go over and feed them it’s really a lot of fun.

I would highly recommend staying here as it is off the beaten path in terms of the best place to stay around and the food is really good.

We only stayed for one night, but it left a lasting impression! Everything was cozy and beautifully arranged. The atmosphere was wonderful, and the staff was incredibly friendly. The food was delicious, and our wooden nest felt just like home. We’ll definitely consider visiting again! ☺️

Great place to check out before stopping by to see Bodie CA, and Yosemite National Park. Great customer service. Good food at the restaurant. I stayed at the hotel, and one of the cabins which was clean and comfortable. Next trip there would be stay in one of the covered wagons. You can hear the creek at night making it a peaceful place to get away.

5 stars all the way! Thoroughly enjoyed my relaxing and affordable stay here .this place was like an oasis in the desert campgrounds were not open yet and I was exhausted, booked this place on Airbnb and then extended one extra night. They were so accommodating to also let me extend a few hours after checkout for a small fee. Monica at the front office was very friendly and helpful too. They are pet friendly, also. I was there early weekday spring so not to busy at all, beautiful relaxing creek running behind the cabins with a bridge and trails to walk my dog. We stayed in the Sasquatch research center cabin which was perfect, the full size bed and set of bunk beds were extremely comfortable, I was grateful to be able to take a hot shower in the community bathroom which also had a heater in there. I was able to grill up the steak and burgers I had on one of many gas grills and cook and clean up in the community kitchen. Very close to travertine hot springs, buckeye, twin lakes. I did not want to leave and will definitely stay here again.

We had a wonderful stay at Virginia Creek Settlement. We were in one of the creekside house keeping cabins. This was comfortable and roomy for 2 adults although I would say a family of 4 would be okay. I loved all the different types of “rooms” they have here. I could see a family also booking one of the covered wagons for their kids to sleep in. Every cabin has an outside sitting area and there is a common one as well. And don’t forget to eat at the restaurant!! Wow, the pizza was fantastic and the portions of the regular entrees 3 course meal is huge (seriously, maybe look at the smaller “lighter side” unless you want to take home leftovers.
The staff is super friendly. We stayed at the beginning of May durning the week and place was very quiet. Don’t forget to feed the trout !! You get a package of fish food on check in. All and all a fantastic place to stay ( and eat)
