We went to this delicious BBQ restaurant for lunch today - HASSAYAMPA SMOKEHOUSE BBQ. We went to the new location located in Dewey, AZ. They also have a location in Wickenburg, AZ. I had the BBQ Pulled Pork Sandwich with the best French Fries ever and my husband had the Brisket BBQ Sandwich with lettuce, tomato and onions also French Fries and a drink. These are big sandwiches,Texas style! They had their regular BBQ sauce but two unusual sauces, as well. I tried the Prickly Pear BBQ Sauce (just the right amount of flavor/spice for me while my husband tried the sauce with a little more heat - Spicy Peach! Both were delicious.
We kept passing by and finally decided to go and give it a try. Needless to say, we will go back. I am attaching a picture of the menu and a few pics of the inside and outside. Casual, clean and friendly service.

I got the brisket plate with Mac n cheese, fries and extra pickles. The Mac n cheese was perfectly tasty and cheesy. The fries were good but I'd probably ask for a side of ranch with them next time. The brisket was tender, juicy and flavorful! The prickly pear BBQ sauce is delicious! I slathered it all over my brisket! Highly recommend this place!

We ordered a pound of pulled pork to go. I would say about half of it was grizzlel fat and black skin. Not edible. The pulled pork itself is very good. Did not get our moneys worth.

My wife and I had the Brontosaurus Ribs a week ago and they were fantastic. We got together with friends on Saturday during Memorial Day weekend and decided to get an order of 5 Brontosaurus Ribs to go. I reserved them the day before (great idea you guys). Unfortunately, when we opened the containers at home we discovered the ribs were extremely over cooked. The two ribs with smaller amounts of meat were basically inedible (think jerky). The three ribs with more meat were at least barely edible. Due to our guests and the 45 minute round trip, we made no attempt to return the order. It’s my belief that these were so overdone, there’s no way your staff didn’t know while filling this order. While short term you came out ahead on selling items that should have ended up in the trash, long term you’ve lost a customer forever. Doesn’t seem like a successful business model for a place just starting out locally.

On a side note, there were significant differences on the amount of meat on individual rib orders. Two of our orders literally had only half the meat of the other three. If you have that much variation, you might want to consider pricing these by weight.

First time we went food was great. Best side salad totally fresh. Brisket was a little salty but good. Pulled pork was excellent.

Well fast forward 1 week. Salad was mainly brown lettuce and not eatable. Thrown away. Brisket was way saltier then the week before. A return trip is not in our future.

Friendly staff, restaurant is clean and nicely arranged. The food was a mixed bag. Ate there this evening, not busy. We ordered at counter, not a long wait before food was delivered. Wifey had the GF smash burger and the tangled onions. Good job with the GF bun, the cook grilled it. The pattie was not truly a smashed burger such as what they have at Sammies. Her food was not hot, Tangled fries were a bit greasy. I had the sampler platter. It was not hot upon delivery. The ribs were good, tender, fall off the bone. The brisket was very good, moist with a nice exterior crisp. The pulled pork was flavorful and tender. The only drawback to me was the temperature. The coleslaw was great, am assuming housemade. The fries were different than any I have had, kind of like steak fries. They were crispy and very good. The cornbread appeared to be cooked skillet style, possibly with bacon grease? It was good. The prickly pear BBQ sauce was tasty with a bit of spice. I guess with "Smokehouse" in the name I anticipated more of a smoky flavor in the meat. I like BBQ joints that smoke the meat up fairly heavily. Not so much smokiness but the meat was good. I know it is a challenge to get food to a table with steam still rolling off the plate but they need to do better in this regard.

Food was really good. I got the brisket mac n cheese, very creamy. Brisket was flavorful and had some chewy pieces which I like. My boyfriend got the sampler platter, he said it was all good except for the ribs. The ribs were very dry & overcooked. We got there right after work, which was half hour before they closed so unsure if that is why the ribs weren't cooked well? I'll definitely be back. Hopefully the ribs will be better next time too.

Tried this place off the side of Hwy 69 in Dewey and it was unexpectedly delicious. Definitely try the Texas Twinkies! The barbecue sauces are their own and pretty good. Mac & cheese was decent. Overall good experience and worth the stop.
