I booked the Drover's Inn China Camp room online. John, the owner, did not ask for a credit card deposit, which made me a little nervous. On learning that we wouldn't be arriving till 9PM, I called to tell John, he said so worries. I was so afraid we wouldn't have a place to stay once we arrived. Not only was our room ready, but John was there to greet us. This is a small B&B type place that is attached to an area called the Wild West Junction. The room was immaculate, everything was spotless. We had two beds and it was decorated in a Chinese décor. Each room is decorated in a Décor depicting the old west. Included in our price was breakfast at the Wild West junction restaurant. Anything on the menu and it was delicious! We also ate at the bar/restaurant one might, it was very good as well. Didn't have a chance to try the steakhouse, but I am sure we would have been very satisfied if we had. ||Can't say enough good things about the owner, John Moreland, so hospitable and friendly. He is there probably 16 hours to see you are happy with the service.||Would definitely stay there again, but in a different décor, just to try another one of the lovely rooms. I give five stars!!!!!

I found this quite by accident when searching the web for accommodation in Williams, and reserved the Hacienda suite back in January for the final leg of our road trip through California and Arizona. The Inn is the accommodation side of the Wild West Junction - see separate review - which is a little town in itself, set back from the main road through Williams.||||On-line reservation was by mail to Mayor John Moore. Surprisingly easy and no hassle, no need for up front payment - John works on trust.||||Check in is easy if you know where you're going! I didn't. We arrived fairly late at 9pm after a 12 hour drive from San Diego, via Julian, Salton Sea, Lake Havasu City and Kingman. We were tired and my brain had stopped functioning on all cylinders. I parked on the main road outside the Wild West Junction and worked anti-clockwise through the buildings to find reception. There isn't one. My last stop was the saloon, where they had my keys ready for me behind the bar. So, check in - saloon!||||I moved the car to the back of the property to give us easier access to the room. The Hacienda is the largest of the accommodations available and comprises 2 bedrooms, jacuzzi bath, shower. The main bedroom comes with a big TV and the second with a bar, wash bowl and a fire. The rooms are littered with items in keeping with the accommodation - little bookshelves filled with histories of the wars of 1800-1900; cowboy hooks for your towels. The price is very reasonable for a property of this size. ||||My wife was worried about security. None of the doors appeared to have a proper lock on them except the wooden entrance door to the balcony, from which you enter the room. However, only Spiderman would be able to break in here so I felt safe enough. ||||Breakfast is included. We weren't entirely sure what this meant but it's basically anything on the menu. This is good quality as well as decent size portions and we were full for hours afterwards.||||Mayor John was always on hand for any requests. You want an iron and ironing board, see John. He has a storeroom full of treasures which will be useful every once in a while. ||||This property is quirky, magnificent and a truly memorable stay for us for our last nights in Arizona. It really did give us the atmosphere we wanted from our short stay.||||The Drover's Inn should really come higher up the ratings on TripAdvisor. I put this down to the fact that it and the Wild West Junction, although one property, are given separate status. If combined, the larger number of reviews would elevate the property to its true rating.||||Thank you John and your staff for your hospitality and entertainment during our stay. It really was a highlight of our trip. I hope you continue to thrive as we do intend to return one day!

My friend (a Williams local) and I decided to spend our visit in Williams at the Dover Inn for girls' spa day. We reserved the Hacienda Suite for two nights. This gave us all day to take advantage of the services in and around Wild West, which included a mani/pedi and a massage. Then doing a hair treatment back in the room while enjoying coloring books and other girly endeavours in a relaxed atmosphere. Wonderfully relaxing without needing to hurry off here and there.||The Hacienda Suite is quite cozy with two rooms, a wonderful spa like bathroom, a bar area, and a private patio. Unfortunately, winter popped in so we couldn't take full advantage of the patio. The only thing missing was a cozy chair or two to curl up in. It would be nice if the bed in to front room could be replaced with a high end convertible that fit the decor so a couple of comfy chairs would fit. That would be so nice with the kiva fireplace.||The included breakfast was at the Wild West Cafe and was enjoyable. I found all the staff friendly and accomodating. Just one word of warning, parking is on the street. Although there is a lot adjacent to Wild West it is privately owned. While convenient the owner will have you towed if you park there. It almost happened to me after I received some erroneous information saying I could park there. Boy was the lot's owner ticked off.||Bottom line is, yes, I would stay there again.

Our experience at Drover's Inn had some very good and some not so good points. I would love to rate it higher but the negatives bring it down. First and foremost let me say that the hospitality of the folks who work here and frequent here was amazing. Everyone we met was friendly and helpful. I can't express how nice they were. Reservations are easily made by phone and they hold the room you want with your name. In the morning you get to go down to their restaurant and order just about any item off the menu and it is included with your room. The breakfast was very good. The room we got was the Hacienda suite. It was unique and had character. Now for the bad points. The location suffers from a lot of road and train noise as well as noise from people likely wandering from bars late at night. The whirlpool tub in the room took a long time to fill, the hot water was not enough to fill it, and the water was green and smelled like algae. The room is insecure because there is no lock on one door and the other door has only a flimsy lock. There is an outer door from the patio that has a basic lock but it would be easy to climb up to the patio and get into the room. I did not want to leave any belongings in the room and did not feel safe to sleep without rigging something on the doors. There was no phone and the rooms needed more light. Also, the doors have large gaps between them which lets in heat/cold/rain/bugs. There is a fireplace in one bedroom and a heater/air conditioner in the other bedroom. It is hard to maintain a consistent temperature between both bedrooms because of the gaps in the doors. I love the creative ideas they have for the rooms here and the friendliness is welcome in this crazy world, but some things are in serious need of being taken care of.

Key collection was from the busy saloon bar. The themed room (China Camp) was nicely decorated, however every surface was covered with a layer of dust. There were two double beds with one bedside table between and these filled the room. There were no storage facilities, no tea/coffee facilities, and no room to move around. Free wifi was available in the saloon but it did not work in the room. A number of lights did not work. The bathroom was spacious but could have been cleaner and we had to ask in the bar for more toilet tissue as there was no maid service during our two night stay. Parking was on street. We were looking forward to staying somewhere different than the standard motel room however now we wish we had.

We met the owner John while we were unloading our car and found him to pretty much represent what this little inn stands for....charming, rough around the edges and full of character. We loved staying in the Bordello room with its period pieces, even the bathroom was decorated with the same care. it's like stepping back in time. Breakfast is included in the price. you can choose anything on the menu..really good deal!! and the food was excellent. All the staff we encountered were really nice and accommodating. So if you are looking for an experience and not just a room, this is the place for you

We were looking for a place to stay with our dog. I called another inn and they suggested I contact Drover's Inn. John, the owner and I exchanged voice mails, and yes we could stay with our dog. The rooms are fun and funky, and the staff is so much fun! John became fast friends with our dog. It was like staying with fun loving friends.

We came late in the evening, and asked for a room. Even thoughthey where closing, and all except the girl in the bar had gode for the day, she managed to make a room ready for us. The room was nice and clean, and the rooms were very authentic with western theme . It was like sleeping in cenery for a movie . Breakfast was included and very good , and all at a very nice price. We would love to come again.
