Martina and Chris are exceptional hosts, and Aerie Adventure Lodge would be a good place to stay whether for a single night of comfortable rest or several days to explore Talkeetna. The furniture and bedding in the room are clean and of high quality. The appliances in the shared kitchen and bathrooms are premium, exceptionally clean, and well-maintained. The kitchen has everything you need to prepare a simple meal. I also enjoyed browsing their wonderful collection of Alaska-themed books displayed there.

Martina and Chris have lived in the area for many years, and have deep knowledge of Talkeetna and Alaska. I enjoyed chatting with them about recommendations for local outdoor activities and their experiences in the backcountry of remote Alaska. They are friendly and approachable hosts, so don’t hesitate to ask! The place is about 5 min drive to local lakes and trails, and about 8 min drive to the town of Talkeetna.

The domes are located on top of a small hill, offering an unobstructed view of Mt. Denali and several other nearby peaks. I stayed in late March and had the opportunity to watch the northern lights right from outside the dome. When the sky was clear, I managed to take a picture of northern lights dancing above the snow-covered mountains in distance.
