Crooked Creek lodge is amazing!! That really says it all. Dorothy welcomed us and told us from before we arrived if we needed anything at all, just let her know and she would do her best. Before arrival we had so many choices of things to do during our stay but she really helped in figuring it out for us. This was our first trip to Alaska and Crooked Creek made the stay so enjoyable. The nightly meals were just wonderful and having the opportunity to share stories each night with the other guests was so much nicer than eating at a restaurant by ourselves. It was so nice to have them pack us a lunch for the days adventure. They even packed a special lunch and did special meals for my son who is a picky eater. We had incredible experiences fishing, seeing scenery, and meeting the wonderful people of Alaska. If this is your first or 10’th time traveling to Alaska, you should contact Crooked Creek about staying at their lodge. Words are just hard to describe the wonderful time we had. I am ready to book my next stay already!!

I just got back from the trip, and for now, this is going to be my temporary review with 5 stars. There is a lot to say, and describe, all I can say for now: it's worth every single penny that you spend, the service, the food, the views, the handling absolutely everything it top service. Miss Dorothy, Lindsey, and her entire crew will not leave you disappointed.
Oh, and last thing, lots and lots of fish!!!!

Dorothy runs a truly incredible resort in a beautiful setting with a creek including fish running through the backyard. The meals were professionally prepared and as good as any 5 star restaurant. The rooms were spacious and amazing; the beds were perfect. They were able to accommodate the varying needs of our group from Glacier/whale watching to guided river fishing to remote fly-in lakes.||I have never experienced an adventure that so completely immersed me, in the beauty of Alaska, that for the first time EVER,I never once thought of work or other worldly distractions. I can not imagine a better level of care to guest, anywhere else, as we received here at Crooked Creek Retreat and Outfitters. We brought lots of fish home as well... so nice.

Dorothy and her team are nothing short of amazing. We were spoiled from day 1, and didn't have to worry about any aspect of our trip; from meals to guides. They took a bucket list trip for my son and I and turned it into a life changing experience where we got to see beyond the tourist areas to real Alaska. I will never be able to say enough good things about Crooked Creek!

Just left the lodge today after spending one of the greatest weeks of my life. When planning our trip you always wonder if you made the right decision. Well I will tell you right now, we did. It was everything we expected expected and so much more. The lodge and location was beautiful. Dorothy and her staff were amazing. We felt like a part of the family. Lyndsey was super nice and Ryan cooked amazing meals. We were never hungry. We ate like a king and queen from prime rib to king crab to homecooked breakfasts and all kinds of goodies in our lunch boxes. The guides were great and always put us on some awesome fishing. We thought this was a once in a lifetime trip but we are going to start saving money for a return trip for hopefully next year. Well worth the money.

We had a narrow time window to do an Alaska fishing trip. Dorothy was very flexible in working with our schedule. Upon arrival we were treated to an incredible Prime Rib dinner and had the following 3 days to fish for Silvers, Halibut, and a variety of large catch and release fish. The lodge was inviting and top-notch, including great meals, getting to know other guests, and was a restful respite that has created a desire to return soon! Great job Dorothy, guides and staff!

Due to a family situation, I am over a year late posting a review for this establishment. My father, brother and myself had the pleasure of staying at Crooked Creek Retreat last June (2016). ||||Let me start my review by talking about the amazing owner/operator, Dorothy Baker. She not only made sure to have all of our activities scheduled and organized, she treated us like family with her great hospitality. In addition to the scheduled fishing trips, Dorothy made sure to tell us about the area, where to go for tours and activities, and what places we should see, and directions on how to get there (so we didn't get lost). ||||Dorothy has put together a great staff to help her run this 5 star retreat. She has an amazing chef, 3 experienced fishing guides, 2 very friendly waistress / housekeepers, and she partnered with a very good captain for the halibut excursion.||||Dorothy and Angela (her niece and chef), served excellent breakfasts and dinners daily as well as provided hearty lunches for the fishing excursions. We were treated to Eggs benedict, pancakes, etc.. for breakfast. We had amazing dinners and appetizers at night, including Halibut cheeks, Prime rib, King Crab and baked Salmon. They are also nice enough to ask you about food preferences and food allergies to make sure every single guest enjoyed their meals.||||Her three guides Larry, Terry, and Jason were excellent. They not only took us on amazing fishing excursions, but they told us about the area, different types of fish and animals, and were very knowledgeable that even a non-fisherman like me could catch fish and have a great time.||||Dorothy also had two young ladies working for her as waitress' / housekeepers. I regrettably do not remember their names, but they provided excellent service serving are meals, cleaning our room, and were very personable and while completing their work excellently.||||Last but not least, Dorothy scheduled our halibut excursions with an amazing captain, Aaron Mahoney @ Alaska Gulf Coast Expeditions. Aaron was very knowledgeable and a very skilled guide/captain. He took us to some amazing fishing locations where we caught not only halibut, but sharks, skates, and cod as well. Aaron made sure we filled our quotas and we took home over 100 pounds of delicious halibut . He also showed us some amazing sights while we were out at sea, including but not limited to the Ring of Fire (three beautiful volcanoes).||||Let me end this review, by again thanking Dorothy and her excellent staff and captain, and by recommending anyone interested in an amazing fishing experience to book their trip at Crooked Creek Retreat. An Outstanding establishment run by an amazing woman. I know that the next time I go to Alaska, I will book my vacation with Dorothy and I sincerely hope that this review helps you book yours with her as well, because our experience at Crooked Creek retreat was second to none.
