What a wonderful stay! My husband and I stayed with Jan for 3 days. The beds were comfy, the views stunning, and the breakfast choices were awesome! Jan's home is so beautiful and she made us feel right at home! Would highly recommend this B and B!

First of all, my apologies to Jan for the complete oversight on not submitting my review until now. The actual date of our trip was August of 2022. I thought for sure I'd written a review, as this has become commonplace after trying out a new excursion, or lodging when we travel. Anyway, here it is. My husband and I decided to do a land tour of the area south of Anchorage in August of 2022. Our destinations and planned excursions were located in Girdwood, Seward, and Homer. After our Flightseeing tour and glacier landing in Girdwood, we proceeded to Seward to the Glacier Creek Lodge. When we first started booking, I knew we didn't want your typical everyday lodging, but something unique and special. I found the Glacier Creek Lodge on Trip Advisor, and it sounded perfect. Its away from the hustle and bustle of downtown Seward, and secluded so we were free to enjoy the peace and serenity, and absolute breathtaking views of the surrounding area. Along our drive, I received a text message from Jan inquiring about our estimated arrival time. She let us know she would meet us outside on our arrival. Once we arrived, she was waiting and showed us around her beautiful residence. The property can accommodate several couples at once. We rented the upstairs suite, which had its own separate entrance and came complete with bathroom amenities, and kitchen staples...coffee!! The main kitchen area was on the same level, so Jan went over the guidelines with regard to making meals. There were certain items we could enjoy and others which were her personal staples, and labeled as such so we would not use them. She let us know about the community seating area, which was located nearby a grand picture window where we could enjoy the breathtaking views of the mountains. She let us know about the quiet times, as again, there were other visitors to the residence. Jan was also never far away, as we could hear her in an adjacent room when we were at the breakfast area. The beds were amazingly comfortable, and the shower was warm and inviting each day with an ample supply of linens and amenities. Most of our day was spent out and about in Seward, but it was nice to come "home" to the beautiful facility Jan has created. We hope to make a return trip to Seward one day, and God willing, will once again look up the Glacier Creek Lodge. Thank you again Jan for a wonderful stay during our time in Seward.

What a beautiful home!!! Has a mountain view, pretty centrally located. I know my date says this year, but, in fact it was 2 years ago, at the end of the covid crap. But, the lodge and other places were still not taking any chances. We made our own breakfast, which I didn't mind, and Jan cleaned up after us. Had our own private bathroom, came and went as we pleased. She also offered great places to visit and eat. I will definitely book with her again!

The owner, Jan, met us outside and gave us a tour of her beautiful B&B. She had the place built 15 years ago and has done an incredible job with it. It’s about 5 miles out of the downtown area of Seward, tucked into a quiet forested area. Our room was downstairs and had a private entrance. Breakfast was available any time after 7am. Everything was labeled in the kitchen and it was set up to make, cook, and serve yourself, which I actually prefer. The 1st morning, we had to be out of the house at 6:45 to catch a boat glacier tour, so she had a tray for us the night before that we could take to our room and stock it with any breakfast items, including hard cooked eggs, jam, and bread. Our room had its own toaster, microwave, coffeemaker, and refrigerator so it worked out perfectly. I highly recommend Jan’s place to anyone traveling to the Seward area!

This was our first stay at Glacial Creek Lodge which was for 5 days. Jan's web site is very detailed, well laid out and made it very clear on what you would get. However, her web site does not reveal the secrets to this B&B. You can get a glimpse of what it is really like via all the positive comments posted. It was a total pleasure to stay here, Jan made everything perfect. If you wanted to talk with her (she is an Encyclopedia of local information) she was a pleasure to be around. If you wanted privacy, she picked up on that and disappeared. The quality of the building, infrastructure, fixtures and the kitchen were top notch. My wife instantly fell in love with the dream kitchen. Even the quality of the breakfast was amazing. We stayed in room #2 on the first floor which had it's own porch and entrance. We were visiting Alaska for the first time since our daughter and grand baby moved here so it will be very easy (and a must) to stop first in Seward to stay at Glacier Creek Lodge every year now. Thank You Jan for running a top notch B&B and making us feel welcome every day. ||Gary and Pat (Austin, Texas)

Jan our host is super nice and knowledgeable. We stayed in the upstairs room, with a large king bed and a big bathroom. It is by the upstairs sitting/kitchen area. The lodge doesn't look that impressive from the outside, but the inside is beautiful, with its woods and large windows. The kitchen fridge is stocked with various items for breakfast. Very clean and comfortable B&B.

Best lodgings on our trip to Alaska. The house is a few years old, but everything is maintained so well you would think it was new. It's about 10 minutes outside of Seward. Away from the tourist noise and crowding, but still close enough for easy access to dining, shopping and the tour boats. Jan is a wonderful host and has worked out a great protocol for dealing with the Coronavirus. We had a very comfortable and worry free stay.

My father and I stayed two nights at Glacier Creek Lodge. We had the room with two twin beds and a large bathroom. Very clean and comfortable. It was perfect for us. Outside the room was coffee, tea, and hot chocolate. There is a common kitchen area. This is a DIY breakfast. Jan provided plenty of food for our breakfast preparation. She was friendly and attentive to our needs. Great stay!
