From the moment I walked into my room at the Hilton DoubleTree in Montgomery, I was disappointed. I immediately hit my shin on the edge of the bed because it stuck out awkwardly from the mattress and was hard to see—definitely a safety hazard. The layout of the room was cramped, especially the space between the desk chair and the other bed, which made it uncomfortable to get in and out or do any work on my computer.

Things only got worse in the bathroom. There was no toilet paper, so I had to use tissues, and when I checked the bathtub, it was stained and looked filthy—definitely not something I felt comfortable using. Taking a shower wasn’t even an option.

To top it all off, within minutes of arriving, I could hear a man and woman loudly arguing right outside my second-floor window. It was unsettling and added to an already unpleasant atmosphere.

This hotel is in serious need of renovation. There’s a reason the price is low, and unfortunately, it shows. I won’t be staying here again.

This was a hard review to do because I have never had a bad experience in a Hilton property until now.
I bought two rooms. One for me and one for my 78 year old dad.
Normally at Hilton property you are always greeted properly. The young lady at the desk didn’t do that,didn’t realize I was a Hilton Honors member and didn’t ..wait for it ..offer me cookies. lol. The rooms had multiple lights out,roach in my dad’s room and phones didn’t work. The night shift gentleman was very nice and understood but we literally checked out at 630 never to return again. He did explain it has new management so hopefully things turn around. It is right next to the national HQ of Regions bank so I thought that would mean something but it didn’t

If I could give this hotel negative stars I would. I just want to first say that the Bobby is the best thing this hotel has going. His customer service and professionalism, great. Everything else, trash. When we first arrived, the trash was overflowing outside, which was a key indicator this was not going to be a pleasant stay. Second, the door to get inside was broken. And to skip the theatrics, the cleanliness of this hotel is below standards. Within 5 minutes of being in our room, I found a rubber band on the couch, a sock under the couch, trash under the nightstand and a dead cockroach behind the couch. There was also a live cockroach in the room later on. Further, there was a bird in the lobby, the fire alarm went off randomly and the bartender’s service was trash. I was scheduled to originally stay for 3 nights and after encountering everything mentioned above decided to leave the same night I checked in. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE.! My stay equated to $1300 for 3 nights and for what?!? Hilton ought to be ashamed of themselves. I will never return to this hotel!

This hotel is very tired. When we checked in, the desk clerk barely said hello. She did not welcome us as diamond members. She did not offer the cookies. She did not offer the water. She did not tell us that there was a charge for parking in a very ordinary lot as is found at almost all non valet hotels, so it was quite a surprise when we checked out that there was a charge. Be prepared that there was no usb port anywhere in the rooms. We also had a junior suite with full sized kitchen appliances. Unfortunately, there were no dishes, no pans, no dish detergent. So I ask, how was one know that we were supposed to bring all of that from afar? As you know, at other hilton properties that offer kitchenettes, all of the utensils and dishes are provided. The wallpaper in the bathroom was peeling as was a portion of the ceiling in the bedroom. The view was of the parking lot, but fortunately, we were not able to see it because the windows appeared to have had the thermal seals broken for so many years that you could not see through the window. This was a luxury suite. I cannot imagine what a normal room might have looked like. Blake, the bartender was delightful. He had a lot of personality and we enjoyed talking to him. Nice lobby. Additionally, there were spots in many on the bathroom walls that should have been cleaned. The stove burners look as if they were never cleaned. Cracks on the floor of the elevator. Luggage carts did not work well. We stay at Hiltons often and feel that this place is an embarrassment to the brand.

Once you step into the rooms, they are outdated, not your usual Doubletree standards. Rooms have an old musky smell, and the place needs an overhaul from top to bottom. They have parking issues, and underground prking makes it look like you are in a dungeon. I would choose another hotel this one needs renovation. Too much money and not get the quality of the real doubletree hotel stay.|Elevators are from the dinosaur era. They are horrible.|Also called and asked for tissue and toilet paper. I was told I could come and get it. Whatha! | |You are better off staying in the Eastchase area.||

Ice machine was broken. Cups in the room were very dirty. The coffee creamer curdled.
Lights in the room don't work. Coffee maker was broken.
Location is good. Very walkable.
If you just need to sleep and watch TV then you're good.

Deeply Disappointed – Double-Tree by Hilton Property Is a Disgrace

I’m genuinely shocked that Hilton would allow their name to be associated with this property. The room I stayed in was musty, damp, and reeked of a smell that could only be described as 80+ years of neglect. It felt more like an abandoned relic than a hotel room. The carpet is threadbare and look every bit of their 60+ years. The bedding was uncomfortable, and the sofa couch was in such poor condition, it shouldn’t even be considered usable.

To make matters worse, basic amenities were nowhere to be found. The front desk had no extra towels—because the rooms were already inadequately stocked to begin with. It’s unacceptable for a brand of Hilton’s stature.

The lower garage, which is supposed to be for guest parking, had standing water pooling in most bays—about a half-inch deep. It felt unsafe and unsanitary.

I’m well aware I’ll likely receive Hilton’s usual copy-and-paste response expressing regret and promising to “do better.” But the truth is, this hotel is in desperate need of a full renovation and serious managerial oversight. I hope someone at Hilton takes notice and acts—though I’m not holding my breath. Sometimes never really means never. I will never visit this hotel again

This hotel is not up to the standards of a Doubletree brand.||We made reservations months in advance and they did not accommodate the original room type request.||We understood once we had a room. The maintenance at the hotel is sub par. ||Mirror reflective back was peeling off, the toilet paper roll was broken, and more.||The staff was not working to accommodate our request and we were still charged for parking.
