We only visit Prattville about once a year, but we always stop at the same restaurant, which says a lot because there are other places we could go. We really love the ambience because we always sit outside where we can see the creek. The food is always good, and the service as well. The only thing I could ask for is that they made their own ranch and it didn’t come out of packets. I can’t help it that I judge my restaurants by their salad dressing. However, I guess I can understand because they probably don’t do a large enough volume of business. The barbecue was amazing so it made up for it. Thank you to the owner, who was very gracious. We will be back next year.

I got the pork loaded potato and he got the brisket plate. He was happy with his. My potato was undercooked and barely room temperature. Cheese was not melted and margarine came in a tub and didn’t melt when I put it on. I had to use plastic fork and knife to cut the potato enough to be able to eat it. I added bbq sauce to my pork and then put the pork in my potato. Also on last bite I found a bone in my meat and it wasn’t a bone from Pork, so it seemed like there was some cross contamination on a cutting board or something. The flavor was good, but execution was lacking. We got there 30 minutes before close, so that could be why the quality of mine was less than desirable. Also felt rushed out. We were the last ones in there. As soon as we left, they locked up and lights were out. We left right at closing, but we shouldn’t have felt like hey we’re rushing us out. Owner was very nice. Enjoyed meeting him.

Fat Boy's was named one of the 50 best barbecue restaurants in Alabama so I gave it a try. I enjoyed my meal as the barbecue was moist with a good texture. They have a great sauce that is made with a unique acid...pineapple juice. It's sweet but not too sweet. The baked beans and onion rings were good and they have self-serve Coke products, which I love! They also serve these fun little hand pies, which are the perfect finish for lunch. I initially didn't order one, then I saw two blackberry pies delivered to the table beside me. They got their hooks in me and I'm glad they did.

Our first visit here was great. We felt very welcome and comfortable. We ordered the combination platter for the two of us at lunch.

The BBQ was delicious and the price was very reasonable for what we were given. The potato salad and Cole Slaw reminded us of what our Moms used to make. We had enough left over to have another meal for our dinner tonight.

It's no surprise why everyone here in Prattville loves Fat Boy's BBQ.

The Homemade Banana Pudding - is just what it says “Homemade” delicious.
