This place is a real gem! High quality Italian food that is both delicious and affordable in price. Most places I have been to and reviewed are decent in quality but usually a little high in price.
Not this place, the food was actually, in my opinion, a little cheap for the quality and quantity. Our server was exceptional and very attentive with a good smile everytime she came to the table. I would highly recommend to anyone wanting Italian food with a good amount of choices that exceeds expectations. The picture is of the BBQ chicken pizza , mozzarella bread, and some of the best Calamari i have had!

We visited Effina's with friends on a Sunday afternoon. It's a great little place in Jacksonville with rustic Italian decore'. The service was good; not very personal but very thorough. I had the Italian Nachos (pictured), as well as the breakfast pizza for my meal. The food was very well prepared; the Italian Nachos were AWESOME. Seriously, I'm getting them again. Waffle cut potatoes with Italian Seasoned Chicken, perfectly cooked. covered with peppers, then cheese. They were so good. My Breakfast Pizza was good, but there wasn't much about it that screamed breakfast. It had a small amount of scrambled eggs, but they really weren't noticeable. It tasted great, I just wanted more of a breakfast theme on it. The food was priced well; we'll definitely be back!

A side note, the upstairs dining is a bit inconveniently located. The restrooms are downstairs, and for some in our party, the stairs were quite the struggle.

I rarely leave negative reviews, but my experience at this restaurant was disappointing enough that I feel compelled to share. We ordered the Shrimp Po’ Boy and the Meatball Sandwich, hoping for a decent casual meal, but both were major letdowns.

The Shrimp Po’ Boy was nearly inedible—the tomatoes were limp and clearly had been previously frozen, which ruined the texture and taste of the sandwich. It lacked the freshness you’d expect from a place that supposedly specializes in a great lunch menu. As for the Meatball Sandwich, the meatballs tasted like they came straight from a frozen bag at the grocery store. There was nothing homemade about them, and the flavor was bland and generic.

To make matters worse, the cleanliness of the restaurant left much to be desired. Tables were dirty and hadn’t been wiped down properly, and the overall environment just felt unkempt. It’s hard to enjoy your food when the place looks like it hasn’t seen a proper cleaning in days.

Unfortunately, I won’t be coming back.

Great Italian restaurant which fresh food and delicious dishes! Came here for lunch during a work week and I really enjoyed it.

We typically come to Effina’s in Jacksonville because we think the service is better than Anniston. However tonight we were sat in a five top by the door, and the sun was shining right in one of our party members faces. We asked to be moved to the window seat, but we were told that is reserved for 6+ parties (the table was empty the entire time we were eating). So we asked to sit upstairs. Upon receiving our bill, we were charged a 20% gratuity fee for “sitting at a party table”, except we were not told that when we asked to move. As of today we were charged 20% for the table and 3% for using a card. So just be aware, if there is more than 4 people, check with your wait staff to see what additional charges you may have.

First time visit. Nice atmosphere and good food. My waiter was a little slow at returning to the table but over all great experience. They were busy at 5pm on a Sunday evening so I understood. I ordered the Effina pizza and it was really good.

I had the Caesar salad with grilled chicken. The salad was drenched in olive oil. I like olive oil, but I would have liked to taste the Caesar dressing, at least a little! This was my second trip, and the first time I had a pasta dish that was great, but that will be my last salad there. Service was excellent both times.

Beautiful restaurant. The pizza and calzones are great. The free French bread with spiced olive oil was a wonderful addition. I especially love the upper section seating.
