DO NOT STAY HERE!!! The hotel is rundown and has an odor. The walls of the rooms have stains and chipped paint. There are signs of water damage in the ceilings and in the bathrooms. The microwave didn't work at all in the first room I was given (room 224), and the odor was unbearable. There was a cup and straw already in the room's trashcan when I entered. The second room didn't smell as bad (room 218), but it was just as dirty as the first. The bathroom door had something brown smeared on it and more dirt and hair all over the door. The sink drained extremely slowly. To make things worse, the power was out for 4 hours after a storm. This included breakfast time, so no breakfast was served, and staff didn't offer us anything in exchange. This was the filthiest Sleep Inn I've ever seen. I told the front desk staff I wanted to check out early due to the lack of upkeep and poor experience. The supervisor finally agreed to issue a refund, but then lied to Expedia and said she wouldn't provide a refund. Please do not waste your money on this trash!

I live local & have stayed here a couple of times with no issues….. HOWEVER, I referred family here this past weekend 4/5 & the hotel smell like funky dogs soon you hit their hallway. The bathroom in my aunt room had not been swept nor popped, multiple hairs still in the shower & they allow pets near the breakfast in the lobby while people are eating breakfast… how gross is that…they claim it is IMPOSSIBLE to have mice yet one or 2 enjoyed a Twix left behind…. It’s obvious yet they were adamant…. In other words book at your own risk….but I do not recommend them AT ALL.

Just outside of bham this hotel is stellar. Easy access, reasonable price, and personable staff (even called me by name when leaving this morning)! It is clean, comfortable, and very safe! Everything you need, and nothing that you don’t. Highly recommend.

I booked a room a week beforehand for two nights, Fri and Sat. I did not receive a confirmation email so I called the next day to make sure I had a reservation. They told me that I was not in their system and there was no reservation. This took a while because we had difficulty communicating due to their heavy accent that was hard to understand. I then booked my room at a different hotel. On Saturday morning they called and asked why I had not come in the night before. This surprised me because if they had my phone number why had they not been able to find my reservation? When I looked at my bank statement I found they had charged my debit card $369.21 then followed it with a refund for $186.36. So, I'm out $182.85 which my bank is currently disputing. Wish me luck!

Positive: One of the few that still offer some kind of breakfast, bed was very comfortable and room was cold and quiet. Negative: The floor didn?t look like it had been vacuumed and left my socks very dirty. Shower was pretty gross (moldy, soap build up)

Will not honor any pricing they tell you. I stayed on a visit and was quoted a price and asked if I need to book ahead of time. They said no and as long as I book thru the front desk directly price would be honored....they the guy argued me down saying he did not say any of that.

Was lied to multiple times pertaining to a refund for a cancellation. Never heard from hotel manager Jona Parmar. For 3 weeks I called. Every day was told that he/she was going to give me a call. Never did. Basically without spending one night on their property tried to hold the $152.62 for the reservation and deny the refund. I even called corporate who informed them of the decision to refund the funds but the request was ignored. I WILL NEVER BOOK a ROOM with a CHOICE hotel EVER AGAIN. I was refunded the money by Pay Pal and cancelled my card.

I've stayed here a lot this year. It's convenient for working in Birmingham as it's not far. TV's remotes don't swap inputs so you have to ask for a different remote from the desk. Breakfast is cold at times. Only the "high traffic areas" of the rooms are cleaned... Ever. I'm attaching pictures of my last stay here for this year. Unfortunately, behind the desk was all kinds of trash. Behind and next to the bed closest to the A/C was trash/ food. Hair was left in the bottom of the shower that wasn't from me as I saw it as soon as I got in the room. A gigantic ant crawled across the desk, which I'll attach. I'd seen a roach on the wall behind the desk on a different stay. The hotel is usually cheap but come on... I expect more from a Choice Hotels chain.
