We stayed at the Villages across from the resort. The room was very large and we appreciated the fridge, microwave and kurig.

The location was gorgeous. Really beautiful. We were there at the end of May…they had just opened up. The road noise wasn’t bad that early in the season.

The room had two barrel chairs but the seats are well past their retirement date so were uncomfortable.

The room would easily fit a small dinning table and two chairs so you can eat a proper meal in your room, especially given that you have the means to prepare it. It's a shame there wasn't one.

The bed was comfortable and the heater worked well. The shower had lots of hot water and good pressure.

Frank's restaurant was convenient and they worked hard to keep up. But the burger was really barely mediocre. It's only saving grace was its $10 price tag. Same for the wings and patty melt.

I overnighted at The Village at Highlands Ranch / Childs Meadows (Harvest Hosts) last Friday while passing through the Lassen area in my 32-foot RV. After pulling up beside the mercantile inside the RV park, I learned check-in happens across the road at the main lodge. A friendly gentleman even drove over to be sure the shaded, level pull-through I had been assigned met my needs.

With camp set, I headed over to Frank’s Bistro, which sits right inside the RV park next to the mercantile. Service was prompt and personable, the hot wings arrived crispy with a tangy Buffalo kick, and the house IPA hit the spot on a warm mountain afternoon.

Come evening, I crossed the road to the Highlands Ranch Restaurant & Bar. They gladly swapped my table reservation for a seat at the bar—perfect for chatting with bartenders who clearly know their spirits. My ribeye landed exactly medium-rare alongside buttery mashed potatoes and sautéed vegetables; I chased it with red wine. For dessert, I enjoyed a well-balanced Old Fashioned and, later, a creamy nightcap cocktail topped with freshly grated nutmeg.

Easy RV parking, pine-framed meadow views, and genuinely warm service on both sides of the road made this a comfortable layover. I’d gladly return—and next time I’ll plan a longer stay to sample more of the menu and explore the surrounding trails.

This is a perfect location for visiting Lassen Volcanic NP. They were closed due to wildfires until a few days before our visit, so our plans were a bit up in the air, but so glad we were able to visit Lassen and stay here. Driving in, we saw fire damage and realized it was pretty close to their location. We stayed in the motel, but they also have campgrounds, cabins and a higher end resort. Our room was spacious, clean and comfortable. Everybody we came in contact with was friendly and helpful. We also enjoyed Frank's Bistro on site there.

I had a Standard King Room which was a good size, bed comfortable and nice bedding. Coffee maker, microwave and fridge. Shower worked well and on the first morning had nice hot water. Parking outside room. Seats outside the room were nice and were in the evening sun. Wifi worked well first night but on the second night neither laptop nor phone could see the network. I had phone signal – verizon.|The onsite shop had very limited hours.||Some irritations – no clothes hangers just hooks on the wall; very limited space to put things down in the bathroom which was pretty inconvenient; limited space to put things down in main room with 2 small bedside tables and a little side table under the tv; housekeeping emptied my bin but didn’t replenish my coffee supplies (I’d have been less irritated if I had received no housekeeping at all).||No hot water last morning which another guest told me was due to a burst pipe. I accept this was just bad luck but would have appreciated an apology email rather than just an auto “hope you enjoyed your stay”.||It is really the only game in town for hotel type accommodation near the south entrance to Lassen. The location is great so, despite the cost and the irritations, I’d stay again if visiting the park.

We stayed in one of the drive up motel rooms. The rooms were up to date and modern, the shower was great- excellent pressure, and got hot quickly. The host was extremely helpful and made sure we were all set. Rooms are not spacious, but we're here for the outdoors and the location could not be better for beautiful LVNP!

Would be a 4 star review, however, the bathrooms are shared with the restaurant attached to the RV park office. We did not feel comfortable, nor felt like we had privacy, when taking showers knowing that customers from the restaurant can walk right into the bathrooms. The showers were only made private via a shower curtain….that were pretty much transparent. Most RV parks have stalls that enhance the privacy of their visitors. Also, while WiFi is provided it is basically non existent. One positive is, it is a close drive to the southern entrance of the park where majority of the hikes are located.

Great location if you plan on going to Lassen Volcanic National Park! The room was very clean and comfortable. It had a refrigerator and microwave. There is a heater, but no air conditioner, but with the evenings cooling down and a ceiling fan and opening the windows is was good sleeping. They have a little restaurant you can sit outside and eat or go across the street to the very nice restaurant for appetizers, dining and drinks. The Brie was amazing!

was cute and had an awesome view. Motel room had a strong chemical smell and no wifi. we could use the wifi from the store nearby but that never worked so we only used the restaurant wifi when we were eating. that should definitely be changed. room was okay. you could hear the neighbor cough through the wall
