Pizza is great, we really enjoy the pepperoni pizza. My kids love the food, counter staff is great!
However, because the owner/cook(Mitch) likes to yell and belittle you when you ask questions, then mock you if you point out a mistake on an order that clearly shows on the reciept we dont go in as often as we would like. And as I have seen in other reviews he likes to belittle as well and say we aren't real customers so people think its fake reviews, so here is a screen shot of 2 orders just this year we have done.
Edit: since he clearly likes to argue in his reviews, yes i had the receipt to show what i got was wrong, and tried to show you but you didnt care, and yes I did use one of your photos because the pizza is good and I was showing that because I didnt have one of my own because we ate it. Only Mitch's crappy attitude at customers is what we dislike. And you are a liar he does yell and belittle customers because I was one of them, and appearantly by other reviews not the only one!
Maybe take some accountability and realize you might be part of the problem, cause we would spend more there if Mitch was more pleasant.

I had many wonderful meals here. I love the pizza crust and the combinations I choose. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone that wants a great meal. Thank you to the owner for having such a pleasant atmosphere while i enjoy my meal! 5 stars for sure!

My friends and I came into town and wanted pizza. We stopped into Red Hut and were immediately warmly welcomed by the owner and seated, order taken, and promptly served a beautifully cooked pizza. The atmosphere was very friendly, and professional. Will DEFINITELY be dining at Red Hut again! Thank you, Mitch!

I went there and wasn’t able to order a pizza to eat there and a pizza to go. We were told we could get a to go box after we ate in the dining room. There was no delivery to our table. When called we had to get it ourselves. There is a limit on your soda refills. Ok so not that big of a deal it just isn’t what you expect of a pizza parlor. We get our pizza and the toppings were ok but the crust was very dense, hard, and tasteless. I have had frozen pizza taste better. I did not have anything else from their menu so I can’t say whether anything else is good or not but I have no desire to find out. They also treat their employees bad. Other pizza places in town are a lot better but for the best go to Westwood and get Buffalo Chips. It’s worth it.

Edit: The reason for the the review was because of how bad the pizza was. The crust tasted like cardboard. So you make 700 pizzas. That’s 700 cardboard crusts. Also when I say I want one to eat there and one to take home I shouldn’t be told I have to wait until we leave to get a to go box. We were the customers and we know what we want. Try using these reviews to better your business instead of justifying your actions. You are in the food business where you should be trying to please your customers. I shouldn’t have to go behind the counter to get a soda refill and food should be brought out to the customers. It’s called customer service. You might want to study up on that.

I have seen the owner working in there every time I went in. He is passionate about his food, cares about your experience and appreciates your feedback. The quality of ingredients for topings is extremely high and they load the pizza with them. Susanville is near the edge of California and far from logistical hubs. To have a locally owned pizza place with such amazing flavor at competitive prices is something the locals hopefully appreciate. It's my birthday week and I've been saving my calories to celebrate with a pizza from here. The holy cheese is amazing and unique. Why not start there?

The Owner works in the kitchen and he's rude to customers. The food is great, the owner isn't.
UPDATE: I have been harassed with multiple calls and texts from this business in the 24 hour period that I posted this. Not how I wanted to spend my Mother's Day weekend.
I've posted screenshots on our local town pages. If you've experienced the same with this man, I urge you to speak up. Looks like it's common based on previous reviews.

I came here based on a recommendation. I have the lunch special that included a slice of pepperoni pizza. The serving was huge, I couldn’t finish my slice. The flavor of the pepperoni and cheese was great. The sauce was clumpy, and the dough was pretty dry. I also ordered a side of wings, which I wasn’t too fond of. The young gentleman that took my order was very polite. Personally, I wouldn’t come back here again, but maybe the pizza would have been better if I didn’t order it as a lunch special.

I have had multiple interactions with Mitch's establishment, including recent experiences with their pizza offerings at parties. Unfortunately, these encounters have been subpar.

The pizza quality was disappointing, with a crust that tasted like cardboard and was overcooked on the outside while being doughy on the inside.

A more significant issue arose with a food delivery order in 2020. Despite placing an order and waiting, the food never arrived. After calling to inquire, an employee apologized and offered to deliver the order personally. However, upon arrival, the order was incomplete and included incorrect items. I called the next morning and was told mitch would contact me but no calls so
Given these experiences, I have chosen to take my business elsewhere and recommend alternative options for pizza in susanville. Dont waste your time and money!
