My Rim Rock Ranch Experience started 30 years ago. I was able to take my family every year, it was our yearly outing we looked forward to. We started staying at Rim Rock Ranch. We made the most beautiful and memorable memory's of a lifetime there. I taught my daughter how to fish in the little stream by Cabin #6.
2013 came along and my health went down the tubes. I haven't been able to go to Hat creek let alone do any fishing since then but, last month my friends took me back up there. We arrived that night to settle into Old Red, my favorite Cabin. I was so excited I realized I forgot my clothes! I didn't let it bother me. The next morning we met Nykole. She was busy in the store. She stopped and introduced her self and asked if we needed anything. Of course my buddies told her I forgot my clothes. A look came across her face of a person wanting to make things right. She said you have nothing to worry about we got you. Within an hour she had a big bag of clothes for me! I was so happy! I soon found out everybody from the Gordon Family was so kind and caring. The rest of my stay kept getting better as each day passed. Hats off to Jason, you truly are a skilled Craftsman. The upgrades you have done, wow! I can hardly wait to come back! It’s so nice even a cripple like me can get around! Thank you, thank you all for such a wonderful time! You pretty much gave me the clothes off your backs!

I reserved a cabin for 4 people and one of the small rooms above a barn/garage for 2 people for 2 nights. Where to begin The steps up to the small room better get fixed or someone will fall through the rot. There is only one outlet in the small room so an extension cord and outlet adapter to accommodate several other things is plugged into it...a space heater being one of them. This fire hazard would never go in any other state, CA must not do building inspections. The light above the small sink didn't work and the shower had no hot water. The cabin had cobwebs in every corner of the ceiling - a rotted floor in the bathroom that is buckled up because the shower is made out of metal roofing so not waterproof and rotting the place away. Not one outlet in the kitchen worked - so my husband located the fuse box and noticed one of the glass fuses burnt out. (we thought it would have breakers to flip but that is too modern for this place). An extension cord was running across the floor to power the appliances as the sockets were not working. We asked the front desk lady at the store/office if she knew the sockets didn't work, which she replied, "yes management knows that they are waiting till the off season to fix it". We told her we the fuse was burnt out, but she said there was some major problems with the entire electrical sockets in the kitchen. (impossible to make coffee, toast, etc. with no electric). Next, we asked her for towels for the next night. There were 6 towels, washcloths etc. but there were 4 of us meaning we would need 8 towels/washcloths. We don't mind using our towels a second night if we had some place to hang them but not washcloths. She told us 'We aren't a hotel". Really Needless to say, we left after 1 night's stay. Between the towels, the electric extension cords, no electric in the kitchen, the rotted floors, lights that don't work - and the icing on the cake is they are not a hotel. I would not recommend this place to anyone. It would be okay for a bunch of men needing a hunting cabin maybe. The kitchen appliances are beat up, dirty etc. It was a disappointment and waste of good money.

What a beautiful spot! We went on a camping trip with several sets of friends and were so impressed by the set up of cabins, the pond and how close it was to wonderful fishing in Hat Creek. The hosts were super helpful and friendly and the beds were all really comfortable. It was dog friendly and the little creek that winds around it was clear and constantly flowing. Highly recommend!

We've been going here for years. Cabin 8 has had a complete overhaul. Beautiful. We had a great time. Fishing in the creek was a little slow but the pond on site had some very nice size trout. This was our best fishing. Owners were great and very informative. We'll be going again next year.

We have a camping trip at Rim Rock annually. It is a hidden gem. Beautiful, clean, historic and private with so much to do for all ages!… fishing close by! Wildlife everywhere and right next to the PCT. Burney Falls is not far, along with Lassen Nat’l Park. Wonderful place, highly recommend.

Our little family had a blast, especially since we were able to take our furbabies along and the hosts are beyond accommodating. We stayed in two different cabins (3 and 7) both which were cozy, clean, and well supplied. The pond was well stocked and my boys were able to fish all week long with no issues and even used the little canoe with the host's son( he was the sweetest little thing). We also loved the no Wi-Fi since that meant more time spent with our little ones and also loved having the little market just a walk away for any supplies we might have forgotten. We have officially made this a yearly family trip.

Been going there every September for hunting trip for the past five years. Perfect place to stay for the outdoors. Have stayed in multiple different cabins, for me the best thing about this place is that it's not too crowded. Will continue to go there in the future

It's a great place to stay. We have made this a yearly trip with a local church camp. This year marked our second trip, and if the church goes next year, I am sure we will go again. We have stayed in our travel trailer both years. There are no hookups, but there are plenty of RV spots. We have seen 3 of the cabins that family / friends have stayed in, and they are adequate. Do note that they are older.
