This is the best place in the area! Our kids absolutely love it, and we look forward to returning every year. The staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming, making you feel right at home (they deserve a big bonus for Christmas!). It's also dog-friendly! The only downside is having to cross the freeway outside, which can be tricky with kids or pets. Additionally, there aren't many dining options in the evening, so be sure to stock up on what you need before the kitchen closes! We can't wait to come back! ❤️

It's a beautiful location up in the mountains. We just needed to stay overnight to go to the Western Pacific Railroad Museum. The room is nothing special, and in fact it needs sprucing up and new curtains would help. There are some maintenance issues on the property and they should be addressed. To call this a resort is a stretch and as such is overpriced for what you receive. We only stayed here because there were no other rooms close by. I might stay here again in the "off season" when prices are more reasonable.

This place is spectacular. Although I'm in California for work, I've been blessed to be staying in some wonderful spaces. This one will remain in my top handful. The only thing I could even begin to complain about is all centered around food. Unfortunately there is no breakfast offered. Which is disappointing ( I work overnight and when we get back to our rooms and breakfast is available we can eat without fuss is appreciated) but, to top it off the didn't even have Microwaves in the rooms.
That all being said the rooms are so luxurious and the ground are vast and beautiful with mupitle trails for your hiking enjoyment.

Went golfing here. The building is very nice and I could see that they are building what appears to be a large rec center on the other side of the grounds. Judging off the overall feel and look of what the resort already has, I'm sure the new addition will be very nice. The golfing was great. The course was challenging and in great shape! Soft and fast greens are always fun to play on. It's definitely a course you have to ride in a cart for. Very hilly and some stretches between holes make for a longer (but still enjoyable) experience. Being tucked away in the trees, you will likely end up seeing plenty of wildlife while visiting as well. Saw over 15 deer and too many squirrels and pretty birds to count. Bringing a camera is always a good idea. Lots of opportunities to capture views and wildlife! Also noticed several homes for sale around the golf course so if you're looking for a new home, maybe an investment opportunity, or perhaps a vacation house, be sure to check them out while visiting.

We want to thank the Owners for the remarkable experience we had at Greenhorn Ranch this past week. Resort style summer camp!! From reading reviews, we were aware of the special qualities and amenities of the ranch before we arrived but were delighted by the warm and friendly treatment we received from the staff, the excellent cuisine, the stately lodge with huge stone fireplace and the gorgeous surroundings.||The staff was helpful, knowledgeable and competent. We were immediately impressed by your Director of Activities Jacob Walke, who we soon came to consider a friend. Enhanced by his academic background in the field of recreation and in-depth study of native horticulture, was his magnetic personality and gift of truly caring about our personal interests and what would make us happy 😊 ||We promised Jacob that we would return with our extended family as soon as we could! We were reassured that Zeke Aubrey, the Range Master, was extremely qualified and we enjoyed interesting conversations with him. High end Chef Jamie West was a treasure, creating the most delicious meals and quick to offer mouth watering freshly baked cookies to the guests to take with them to their cabin. Meal times were a treat and something we looked forward to. And Joe, wrangler and storyteller who is somewhat of a legend at the ranch, left us with memories of sitting around the bonfire while he played guitar and sang of the cowboys of the past. Our time filled with activities such as riding the trails on horseback, fly fishing, E-bike riding in the forest, shooting skeet and making new friends was balanced with serenity and relaxation. Cocktails before dinner with total immersion into the beauty and peace of the pines and mountains is unparalleled. We will be back!||Laurie and Dixon Edgerton

A small boutique hotel located between Graeeagle and Portola. Beautiful rooms with Keurig coffee maker, small refrigerator and a combination bathtub/shower. They just recently reopened with proper sanitizing procedure in place. The olympic size pool is also open at theAltituses complex. The climbing wall and kids play area were not open as yet. The staff was very accomadating which made our stay more enjoyable. The golf clubhouse was beautiful. Designed by Frank Lloyd Wright. The Wigwam Restaurant was a little pricey so we chose to dine off site. Cuccia's Italian Restaurant in Graeeagle and Gumba's Family Pizza in Blairsden were our choices. Both just a short drive from the resort. If you are looking for a quiet, relaxing resort at 5,000 ft. this i your place. It should be noted that only ground floor rooms have outside patios.
