A large room with a great bathroom. The room was clean and comfortable and the owners are fantastic. We had an issue with the AC unit and Matt was over to solve the problem practically before I could put the phone down. We also left an item in the room at check out and they promptly sent the item to my home (thank you Andrea!) It’s close to the park, where we stayed all day, and also close to the town of Chester where we had dinner during our stay. We also had room #1 and as a reviewer said, it can be noisy but that’s not the fault of the owners. We give it a 5/5 and would use the Black Forest Lodge in future visits to the park.

My boyfriend and I stayed at the lodge while we did a long weekend in Lassen National park. It was such a great trip.

The rooms are super spacious and the king bed was so comfortable. We were able to hike early in the morning and get dinner in the neighboring city, Chester. We had dinner there each night, and I strongly recommend Happy Garden Chinese restaurant!

The room had a coffee maker, mini fridge and microwave, updated bathrooms, as well as a great view of the meadow in the back. At night, we brought a tarp and blanket to lay down and watch the stars.

Overall, strongly recommend for their cleanliness and location to the National park.

The room itself was nice and inviting. The lower stars are for the sleeping environment.
Part of it may be the room we got (room 1). The window goes out to the main road/entrance so there’s noise of cars going by all night. The entrance lights stay on all night as well and the curtains aren’t enough to block it out so there’s a decent amount of light flooding in to the room.
The walls here are very thin so you can hear other guests coming and going pretty loudly. (Especially rooms 1&2 which are right by the entrance)
Overall if you’re going to stay here I highly suggest ear plugs and possibly a sleep mask depending on the room. The bed is also very firm fyi.

The rooms are all new and very comfortable! The location is right next to Lassen National Park making it a great base to explore the park and surrounding areas. Loved that the TV was big and had access to streaming accounts

Don't judge a book by its cover...
This place doesn't look like much from the outside, but it was an amazing room, with the biggest shower ever!!
Everything is spotless. it looks as if everything is brand new.
The service is excellent, Matt waited for us to show up to give us the instructions on how to get into the room.
Only 20 miles from Lassen Volcanic National Park, the location couldn't be better!!!
I'm definitely coming back!!!

A nice and clean place to stay near Lassen. The place is very quiet and the rooms are big. There are many restaurants available within 10 mins.
