It was not a vacation, believe that! We were burned out of Greenville in the Dixie fire. We were placed in a FEMA mobile home at the park. When they took the FEMA homes away, we were rented the trailer in space 3, for $2340 a month, plus, propane, kerosene, and electricity. The trailer has black mold, no insulation, rain and melting snow dripped right outside the front door and we would have a half inch solid slab of ice outside door. The handrail on the porch was poorly attached. Nicotine leaked through the paint within a week of moving in.

Great place to stay! We did one of the cabins and Mark brushed the snow off the steps and set up our heater before we arrived. It was quiet the whole time, and the town is small and near Chester. I will likely try to stay here every time we come up this area of the Sierra.

I don't know how you could go to any other camp ground than this. The lots are massive and give tons of room to move around, Next it's full hookup though using the bathrooms here is better. And talking about the bathrooms, they are super clean and offer showers AND laundry.

The one con of this place is that there is a train track that runs right next to this place, and having one come by in the middle of the night WILL wake you up.

If you do come here, I'll recommend bringing mosquito repellent as they are quite active the summer of 2023, and probably cellular data/hotspot. While they do have free wifi, it's not fast enough for streaming videos, or other entertainment. Only really good enough for looking up things around the area and browsing the web.

It's a 5/5 place, and would definitely come here if we are near the lake, only if remember to bring a few things.

I reserved a cabin for a trip a few of my friends were planning. I booked 3 weeks in advance. 40 hours before i left for the trip, they calked and canceled my reservation. At first i was told that the guest staying ahead of me had extended their stay. This was not true. It turns out they had workers coming and needed a place for them, so i got booted. Very unprofessional way to operate a business. I for one wont make that mistake again. It left me in a very difficult position. I had to explain to my friends that we didn't have a place to stay that night. We last minute scrambled to find a place and ended up in a nice place, but got gouged on the price due to the last minute reservation. Shame on the management there.

LOVE this place... thank you for welcoming us with open arms in our tiny home. We stayed in the RV section but felt right at home next to their small cabins. Our visit in February was amazing and they kept the park well-maintained through the snow. The owner and manager of this campground are so funny and nice - will definitely have you laughing. Bathrooms were sparkling clean. Nice drive to Lassen National Park, Chester, and Almanor Lake.

Wow. We stayed here for three months and got a screaming deal on our RV site. The sites are very large. You're in the pine trees. The showers are very clean. The park is pet-friendly. Westwood has some really good restaurants, too. You are two hours from anywhere, really: Reno, Redding, McCloud. Closest shopping is Chester to the west (about 15 minutes) or Susanville to the east (about 25-30 minutes). And, what beautiful country to drive in! There are trains day and night, but we didn't find them hard to live with. We loved the sound as they went through the canyon. Staff was always working on whatever needed doing. We would definitely go back for another summer.

Stayed here for 6 days. Park is a bit unusual in that it is an old mobile home park that is gradually being converted to RV park. There are several old mobile homes at edge of park. Many of the RVers at park appeared to be seasonal workers for logging or construction accompanied by their large semi-trailer trucks. Other RVers were visitors like us. Despite being a bit unusual, the park is a nice place to stay and owner and staff are friendly and helpful. The park is quiet and convenient to Lassen National Volcanic Park. 50 amp power was good. Water was fine. Cable TV was poor and cell phone reception (Verizon) was touch and go. WiFi was OK sometimes, but at other times did not work. We didn't try our satellite TV since one of the staff members said that the trees on our site would probably block reception. Showers and bathrooms were closed because of coronavirus. No onsite swimming pool. Fire rings are available at each site and plenty of wood is available at the office. Also a picnic table at each site. Overall this is a nice place to stay and we would stay again.

This business represents itself as a vacation destination for RV's but it is actually a mobile home park with half the spots dedicated to RVs (although the majority of those are long term residents/loggers and not families on vacation). When we arrived we were shocked that our spot was on mobile home road, surrounded by nothing but mobile homes. When I checked in I was given a tenant contract to sign which was so weird. My husbanded wanted to leave immediately, however, after quarantine lockdowns had been lifted I was ready for a nice relaxing vacation. This was far from relaxing. A train runs along the backside of the property and you could hear it several times throughout the night. Such a pleasure to be woken up 3-4 times a night to a train blasting it's horn. In addition to the horn, the long term residents are also early risers, like 3-4am, leaving their diesel trucks to idle for 45 minutes (no exaggeration). On top of that, we discovered that mosquito repellent does not work so we were stuck hanging out in the trailer so that the baby would not be eaten alive. In addition to that nuisance, the resident behind us was on his roof with his son staring into our trailer. So not only did I have to sit inside my trailer, I had to keep the blinds closed so no one could watch us. We initially had planned on leaving our trailer for the month of July 2020 but after that decided a weekend was enough. The owner Mark told us he would not have a problem filling the spot and would refund us our money once he filled the spot. I was returned my deposit (minus electricity and a connection fee, ugh) but nothing else. I called and spoke with the front desk. I already knew the spot had been filled which she confirmed. She told us they would cut us a check for the prorated days the following month since the new renter was a longer term renter. August came and went and still nothing. Mid October I contacted Mark and he acted like he had no clue what I was talking about. He said he would look into it and give me a call back. Nothing. Complete radio silence from Mark. I even wrote a letter trying to resolve the issue and still nothing. If the spot would have been left vacant and I was not returned my money, I would have moved on and considered it a lesson learned to never stay in Westwood again. But the fact that he had a contract to rent my family that space for the entire month of July and then proceeded to fill that spot a few days after we left and did not return our funds is outrageous and shady. The owner clearly has no desire to resolve this matter and wants to double dip and pocket our money. So if you are looking at camping somewhere that gives you horror movie vibes, this is the place
