We called late in the evening and they had 1 room left. The lady who ran the place waited for us. The room was clean and cool, nothing fancy but nice. The shower was hot and the room was clean. We slept well with no problems. We would stay again if we are ever in Basin.

All travelers that are working and looking for monthly, be aware, the lady in the office will go into your room at any point she feels like she needs to go into your room rather you give her permission or not. She will go into your room. she will also tell you where the heat has to be rather you like it or not, and tell you that you are not even allowed to close the bathroom door Because she hast to have the heat go in. Extremely dirty cobwebs dust everywhere. . she will have personal conversations about other tendance with you so that means she’s also having those conversations about you with the other tendance very difficult to deal with something tells me these high reviews. I see our family members or friends working in the assistant living place close by I talked to people about the place and they cringe. Everybody has stated she will always invade your personal privacy by going in to the room because she says she hast to check the room without your permission !

Hard to know if it was open as a hotel or an apartment but once assured they had a room, it was clean. The room was dated but functional. We were desperate due to an automotive issue so we stayed. Thank you for your friendly and helpful response to our situation.

This place is down right scary. I arrived and she met me at my van. She said that if I wanted to see the room because the headboard had fallen off. They had not made the bed because they needed the sheets off in order to fix the headboard. I said I didn't need a headboard as long as the room was clean. She said that she cleaned it earlier. Well, she went to get someone else to help her. He came out a different room and had cleaner and a broom. They both went into the room.(I thought they were going to fix the headboard) They both came out a couple of minutes later. She had something small in her hands that I saw her put in a bin for dirty items. I was outside trying to get their vicious dog to stop growling and lunging at us. (My dog and I). I took two steps into the room and turned around and walked out. The rooms are all smoking rooms.
The mirror was so yellow that I could not see my reflection in it. The room smelled of pot! When I left the room, I was quite aggravated! I hollered out to her, "I would not even let a dog stay in THAT room! CANCEL ALL 3 NIGHTS OF MY RESERVATION!" I sure wished tha I would have taken photos. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PROPERTY!!!!

We traveled in the winter time for a funeral. The weather was below 0 and the pilot light went out in our room every night and multiple times throughout the days. The owner stated my dogs tail was blowing it out but we had two rooms and the same thing happened in both rooms, including the one my dog was never in. We adjusted by bringing a small electric heater to use at night for warmth and when she saw it she stated that we were costing her a bundle by running the heater.

We had to ask for toilet paper every single day and she took it a step further and asked what we used the toilet paper for. One time we used the last of the toilet paper before we left for the day and when we returned she had replaced it with a roll that had a 1/4 inch of toilet paper left on it. It was unimpressive and disrespectful. When I inquired about it she stated they had toilet paper theft and I reinforced that we weren’t stealing her toilet paper but I definitely didn’t feel it necessary to explain how it was used.

To bring the entire trip to a close we finished a day early and we gave her a 24 hour notice of intending to check out the following day. My mother turned in the keys and stated we would be looking for the refund for the night we weren’t using. The owner then told us to have a safe trip back home. Three weeks after we returned she sent me a text message stating they don’t offer refunds for early check outs. It’s in dispute with the credit card company right now.

We stayed for 3 nights, excellent value. An old motel, the owner is working on updating. She was an absolute doll and works very hard to make sure guests are happy. We had no complaints, great stay while seeing the area. Bathrooms are very small but clean. We were thankful she is doing such a good job and would stay again when in the area.

Six of us were traveling in February for a death in the family, we rented 2 rooms for 4 nights stay. It was cold minus 10 degrees wind blowing. 1st night the heat went out slept in our winter coats, socks, caps, and gloves. The second room had heat but not for long. The heating became an issue in both rooms during our time. We had to explain the use of our toilet paper because she would not leave an extra roll in the bathrooms. One day she left a used new roll with 3/4 gone. We had no internet service. The rooms were dirty. We did not stay the 4th night(she had 24 hour notice) and she refused to credit my credit card I am disputing the charge with Bank of America.

While traveling on business, I found myself at the Cottonwood Cottages and I am so glad I did. The best thing about this place is its location. Tucked away in a very residential neighborhood in Basin, WY., the surrounding area is safe and quiet. An Ideal place for a weary traveler.

The very sweet and kind lady got me checked in ASAP. The room was cozy and welcoming. This is the perfect place for a guy looking for a warm bed and a hot shower. Thank you, Cottonwood Cottages.
