Couldn't ask for a more beautiful location. The room we stayed in was a 2 bedroom cabin and it was pretty sparse in terms of amenities. As with many places in this part of the country, don't expect good cell service. There is weak wifi on the premises. All of that said, it is a great place, near enough to Cody for a dinner trip, but make sure you eat at the inn restaurant at least once for dinner. Very high quality food with vegetarian and gluten free options. And most of all, take a porch sit and just enjoy the scenery. And talk up some baseball with the young man working in the restaurant...he will appreciate you for it 😀

I really love photography, so the photos are professional. There are really beautiful views here😍

We stopped at this motel on our way to Yellowstone.

The restaurant was not open here on Monday.

So we had dinner at a great restaurant nearby ( Wapiti Lodge)

The room is small but clean with a mini refrigerator, TV, microwave and coffee maker. Free Wi-Fi.

📍Now about the cons.

📍The window in the room is covered with a white, almost transparent curtain. So, you will wake up with the sunrise (in July this is very early). I used a blanket and covered the window with it.

📍The bed is old and uncomfortable.

📍They use synthetic bed linen, my body came into contact with the bed linen and became electrified, itched and I only fell asleep covered with a terry towel after 3 in the morning.

I had this experience. It's up to you, travelers.

✅ Owners, please read the reviews and correct the shortcomings in your motel!
Thanks for understanding!

Looking online we saw good reviews and nice photos so we hopped this would be a good stay but it was not. Where to start..

We planned to go through Yellowstone where there would be no service so we called ahead to try and figure out what to do if we check in late. We left a voicemail with our question, phone number, and email. Figured when we got service back there would be a message on what to do. But nope, no reply ever.

Luckily we didn't get in too late so we got our key and went to the cabin. I believe we stayed in cabin #12. Here's what we found

- there were 3 beds. One twin bed looked like it was falling apart. The other twin smelled liked pee. The queen size bed In the main room was the only good one.
- we saw a thermostat on the wall but it wasn't connected to anything and didn't work. Instead they gave us two space heaters plugged in only to extension cords. Not safe, especially at night.
- good luck trying to find a place to plug anything in. You pretty much only have the extension cords to plug into.
- the remote for the TV didn't work. Btw this is the only entertainment
- the coffee machine was not cleaned and had left over grounds in it
- the cabin floor is not level but not too important. You can feel it under your feet and also by looking at the pictures on the wall.
- this one is weird. Laying in one of the twin beds completely still, you can feel the ground vibrating I didn't feel this myself but the three other people I stayed with felt it.
- the front door locks behind you if you close it, so make sure you have your key before stepping outside. For a hotel this is normal. But a cabin?
- they say there is wifi but none of our phones picked it up anywhere in the cabin.
- two of the windows were falling apart. One had a big hole in the corner. You have to open the bathroom window when showering cause there is no fan.
- also there is no table to set stuff on. We had to take the microwave off the mini fridge to free up space.
- the one outlet that was available (besides the extension cords) wouldn't even hold a plug in it. It just kept falling out. Had to use a chair to brace it to stay in.
- the sprinklers go off in the morning and they spray your vehicle all the way up to the front porch! Good luck loading stuff into the car you better time it just right or you will be wet.
- the power went out for no reason at all. We didn't overload the circuit or anything, in fact we were all just sitting still doing nothing. Had to walk around the outside of cabin to find the breaker box and reset it twice before power came back on.
- Best for last! We found a live mouse trap under the main bed! My mom was reaching under the bed looking for an outlet and came across it. Good thing she didn't get snapped she saw it first. Couldve been bad!

one last note: checkout is 10am not 11am like most others, which is whatever. But when we went to return the key the main lodge wasn't even open! So we just left the key on their door handle cause we didn't know what else to do? This was on a Friday. What a strange place

As for the positives
- good views and location

Overpriced and no way we are coming back with how janky and terrible service this place has. Maybe the other cabins are better. If you decide to stay here better hope you don't get cabin #12. I would recommend paying the extra money and going to Cody its not that much further.

It took one hour for us to get a salad and an appetizer and we were the only ones inside the restaurant when we ordered. A table of six outside ordered at the same time and their orders were being prepared first according to the waiter. On top of that, the chef could be heard yelling in the kitchen and giving our waiter a difficult time when he inquired about our food. Voices carry, Mr. Chef - shame on you!

This small restaurant is a log cabin nestled in a spectacular valley with rustic outside dining as well as inside seating. The kitchen is small so meals take a while to come out of the kitchen, but the food is excellent. We recently shared fish-and-chips made with walleye pike--the best fish and chips we have found in years (and in the middle of Wyoming no less). The menu offers a variety of food, all well done and presented--you will not be disappointed.

Dinner with my partner was a real treat tonight! We had yummy margaritas then ordered a French Dip & Walleye Fish & Chips. The fries were hot, crispy & delicious Everything was delicious and we avoided the crush in Cody 30 mi away. Our servers were prompt & attentive. I loved the fresh nosegays on each table!

Myself and a couple of friends were in need of a last-minute place to stay while Yellowstone was flooding. Trail Shop quickly accommodated us and provided us with hot showers and comfy, clean beds to stay in. We were pleasantly surprised by how beautiful the area was too. Hwy 14 to the East Entrance was a breathtaking drive, rain or shine. While staying in Wapiti, we were minutes away from trail rides at Rand Creek Ranch. This was a wonderful stay and I would definitely come back. ||||Wifi was spotty, but such is the case in more remote areas like this. It definitely wasn't a problem, as we were able to connect as needed in our room. Rooms had a TV, refrigerator, and microwave. This would be a great place to stop on your way in or out of the park, or if you're traveling to Cody!||||All rooms have easily accessible views of the mountains around the inn. You can also take a seat right outside the front office/restaurant and relax outside.

We thought this was a cute little cabin on the edge of Yellowstone for a very reasonable price. The cabin was clean and had a refrigerator which was nice as not all of our hotels on this road trip did. The wi-fi wasn't working and we had to walk up to the main road to get any signal so if that is your main goal you might be disappointed. This was a very great location though for the next morning early start to Yellowstone after completing our zip line adventure first thing.

Go up
