Super sad experience at this place. Younger gal who was on the floor and quoted me a price seemed like she had no knowledge to be doing her job. Her quote was several multiples higher than everywhere else I looked into. Furthermore, instead of answering the questions I’d asked, she answered questions I never asked then went into giving me an inflated quote as a hypothetical. I’m no expert on stoves, but can do basic math. Estimating $1500 for tax alone on a $4500 stove (this is in addition to $8000 for materials—no labor in that, permit also additional, etc…). You are telling me sales tax is 33%? Last I checked, sales tax in Casper is 5%. I can appreciate wanting to quote on the higher side, especially if you haven’t seen the property, to be sure to not give the client sticker shock… but when you go too far beyond reality, you lose people’s trust in your competence. She went on to conclude this is easily a $20k job. For a one story house with modest ceiling heights (that is a local, new construction-nothing to work around), it doesn’t take too much to know you’re being fed garbage. Don’t waste your time- Take your business elsewhere.

We waited three months for them to come fix our fireplace. When they did arrive they spent all of 10 minutes and then said they couldn't fix it and tried saying it is wired incorrectly, even though it worked for years. They thought they needed to change the pilot assembly, even though we told them the pilot was fine. They also charged us $115 to do absolutely nothing. I will not recommend them.

I have had three interactions with the crew at Porter's. All have been very professional. Julia taking my order and getting everything in the cue. Scheduling 2 gas fireplace cleaning and repair. I missed the names of the first 2 that came and figured out what we needed for the second, but they were great too. Then Keith and Storm came in and did a quick and fantastic job. All left everything clean and tidy. Thank you.
