A neat place to find in Wyoming. The story of the 3 witches along with the Cardinal Witch and the blind minstrel we're neat to read about. A cool little park with a museum, unfortunately closed the day we were there, July 4th, a neat hiking trail with factoids along the way. Some amazing views of Casper and the surrounding area. Would be neat to go on the summer solstice when they have bonfires across the mountains, according to one sign anyways... If you get the chance to visit do so, you don't be disappointed.

Going through reading the plaques and seeing all the little features this place had to offer was educational for my kids. The museum was closed off which was disappointing but everything else made up for it

This is a great place to relax, enjoy the views, maybe picnic. It's unfortunate it's not open longer to enjoy - the season is pretty short.

We had our wedding booked for nearly 2 years. 6 days before our wedding day, they cancelled, claiming there would be nobody up there to let us in despite being in season.
They offered the meadow at the base of the hill before the park, which had no trails and logs in the way so it wasn't disability friendly at all and could not be used.
To have your dream spot carefully planned for 2 yrs, only to be uprooted entirely days before... Our wedding photos now have mismatched chairs in them because it was such short notice we couldn't find chairs for the new location.
You get what you pay for and we didn't think the $50 wedding reservation fee was red flag enough I suppose. Pretty disappointed as this had been a favorite spot of ours for years and this isn't the first issue; we walked a half mile to the midsummer event to be denied entry for our small old dog. We had to walk that distance back to the car with small kids. CD typically allows leashed pets and there wasn't any signage or warning to not bring pets to this particular event a few yrs back.
So sad, definitely lost its magic to us and other areas of the mountain are significantly more gorgeous-- like the spot we found for our wedding. Better views and more flora variety down the road.
Three stars because we used to love this place. Nothing interesting being done with it over the yrs along with our experiences, it's become nothing more than a quick casual visit for our family.

Crimson dawn has amazing views! There is a short easy trail up to a beautiful spot to see this valley while touching the clouds. Because it is close to the main roads it's a perfect place to visit when you don't have a lot of time to spend on the mountain. Have picnic, walk a trail or just chill.
