Our family of five stayed here and thankfully had the whole place to ourselves - one room for the kids and the other for us, and it worked out perfect. Richard and Diane were very friendly, nice to the kids, and gave good recommendations for what to do in Hannibal. We were there in early April and I'd love to go back in warmer weather when we could more comfortably enjoy the deck and screened in porch. The nights were dark, silent, and peaceful. Richard's sourdough pancakes were a hit and they were great about accommodating food allergies.

Stayed in the Fall. The breakfast was superb and the owner had been a Chef, (still was!) and would entertain doing an evening meal priced according to your request. It was a wonderful place and away from any tourist crowd and yet just minutes from any and all the nice things in Hannibal. Take an intimate walk by the river, sit out in the screened area, and soak it up after a few minute hop from all the fine things in town. It was simply clean, tidy, comfortable, and put us in touch with the quiet time to talk and walk and remember why we fell in Love to start with.

The Stone School Bed and Breakfast is located on several acres just outside of Hannibal, MO. If you are looking for an extremely quiet place, owned by the nicest couple, you've found it. Richard and DiAnn are amongst the friendliest innkeepers I've ever met, and went out of their way to make our night there comfortable. (Richard even let us park our convertible in his garage so we wouldn't have to put the top up that night.) ||The elderly dogs, Coco and Daisy, will rush up to meet you. (So, if you don't like dogs, this may not be the place for you!) The B&B part of the house is not actually part of the old Stone School, although it's outer wall, with fireplace, is the inner wall of the B&B. There are 2 small bedrooms, one with an attached bath, the other with a private bath in the hall. They share a loft and 2 porches.||Breakfast was wonderful- bacon and sourdough pancakes with huckleberry syrup. Yummy! Richard and DiAnn shared with us the history of the house (and even let us see their living space). Richard will also make dinner or lunch with prior notice. We looked over his menus and would love to come back and have dinner there sometime.||The room and bathroom were small, but very comfortable. You may hear a train whistle from far away if you sleep with the windows open, but, other than that, I doubt you'll hear anything all night. It was very quiet. The only real downsides were the dirty fridge upstairs and the shower. Although there seemed to be plenty of water pressure in the sink and toilet, the water just dribbled out of the showerhead. I don't think I've ever taken such a long shower before, and was glad I had short hair to rinse! ||Should our travels ever take us to Hannibal again, we will stay at the Stone School Bed and Breakfast. Next time, though, I'm having Richard cook us dinner!

We enjoyed our stay at the Stone School Inn B&B as we passed through Hannibal. Interesting old building. We did not realize that our private bathroom could not be accessed directly from our room but that was not a problem for us - just not our preference. The owners were very personable and helpful with dinner suggestions. Breakfast was very good. Decor in bedroom and bath was outdated fishing/hunting wallpaper but clean and in good condition.

We had a great time. It is a smidge out of town, Richard gave good directions over the phone, and our cell-phone map app took us right there. Visited in May and watched nightfall from the screened-in porch with rocking chairs and ceiling fan. Sourdough pancakes were great. Our daughter forgot her doll on the porch and Diane called, then mailed her back to Eva directly.
