I booked this hotel room in October of 2024. Arrived at 10:30pm the night of check-in to find a sign taped to the door saying they are closed for renovations!! I was never notified that they closed. I had to scramble to find another hotel late at night, and ended up paying more than I booked it for. Tried calling and emailing multiple times, and nobody answers the phone or responds to my email. Called hotels.com where I booked it, and they didn't know it was closed and said it was not their responsibility to contact me anyway, it was the hotels. If this place ever reopens, DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!

Buyer Beware: they oversell rooms. I had booked a King room earlier in the evening and was told that none were available on arrival and so had to settle for a smaller room. Also had to change rooms when the really old smoke detector started acting up, but the staff were super friendly and helpful. The rooms were otherwise great and reasonably clean, but the common areas desperately needed vacuuming and carpet cleaning. You wouldn’t want to walk around barefoot. Great location, and a charming hotel despite showing its age.

3 stars? This once lively hotel is a train wreck and it’s sad to see in its current state. I am shocked it’s actually accepting reservations and had I have ANY inclination to the state of the hotel, I would have gone ANYWHERE else. I believe I stayed at better places for college spring break, which was over 30 years ago. No disrespect to the staff working there as they were pleasant but the owners should let it go or invest money into making it into a descent and safe place to stay. I would NEVER recommend this hotel to anyone.

Looked at the Website and this place looked interesting, booked a one night stay on April 15th, 2024. I am aware that check in is at 3 pm, arrived at 12:30 pm asked if I can check in early I was told no. What is the difference the hotel was not 100% occupied so why make guests wait till 3 pm to check in?. It's not like the hotel is losing any money.
Anyway I was checked in at 3 pm to Room 209. What a joke! Red Carpet?. Really. The room is dated and old. The A/C was not working so had to go back to the Lobby and was given another Room 503 a little bit better but the Door did not close. One has to slam the Door hard so that it close. There is a Coffee maker in the Room but no Coffee pot. Not even one extra roll of Toilet Paper in the Bathroom. The Duvet on the Bed did not have a cover. The carpet is red talk about old and dated.
I wanted to leave but it was only one night and after a long drive and dinner I was tired. So stayed for one night!
I go to Peoria for work every two months. This place is getto and a joke! It's not worth the price. The lobby is dark and depressing looking.
There is nothing modern about this place. The only good thing is the location.
Not worth the price! It's old and dated.

We arrived for a late check-in. Side entry was dark and locked. Front desk clerk had no people skills and while she wasn't rude, she appeared to be just doing her job. We also booked a king room and when we got there had to settle for a queen because they were out. The carpet in the hallway stunk but the room itself was decent but carpet was dirty.

Very poor experience! Had been about 5 years ago and it was great, not so much now! Rooms look nothing like pics, your don't dare take your shoes off, stained and old!. Hallways filthy, staff rude and seemed like being there was inconvenient. Parking lot sketchy, very rough area with no lighting!

Do NOT let the pictures in the description fool you---this is NOT a premier boutique hotel. In fact, it is exactly the opposite as advertised. I have stayed at a lot of hotels over the years, and we were in town for a volleyball tournament, and it was busy in the city as there was a country concert at the Civic Center, a big volleyball tournament, and also was St. Patty's day weekend.|| A few things to note if you choose to stay here:||1. MAJOR safety concerns. The window in our room (We stayed in one of the Century rooms with 2 double beds) did not open at all---so if there was a fire and couldn't get out of our room, we were stuck (and especially being at the end of the hall, that is a concern). We were in the lobby in the evening socializing and they ended up locking the entrance doors from the INSIDE! They were, evidently, overbooked, so as people came into the hotel to check in after 7:00 PM they were not able to even enter the hotel and instead were calling from the entrance doors, only to be told they had not more rooms available! How does that even happen? If you were already in a room, then you would scan your key card and someone would come and let you in by literally shoving open the only functioning entrance door. The other one was broken. Also, only one elevator is working and there are NO amenities beyond some terrible coffee in the lobby and a vending machine on Floor 5. ||2. Security Issue #2---the check-in process was very sketchy---I was not even asked to show ID or a credit card for my room. I was just given keys and not even a room number. Had to go back and ask for that! (TBH---both of the workers at check-in reeked of marijuana). My in-room phone also did not work at all, so again, if I had an emergency there was no way to reach anyone beyond my cell phone. The morning of checkout there was no one at the front desk at 7:15 AM, and instead a sign that said to call an 800 number if something was needed, so I left. Another family I knew had strange people trying to get into their room at 1:00 am---and these strangers' keys WORKED for a room they were not actually staying in! Thankfully the security latch prevented them from fully getting in! So, they clearly are not verifying key cards regularly! ||3. While our room was clean, as was the bathroom, there is no counter top in the bathroom---just a pedestal sink. So, getting ready is a challenge with nowhere to put things. The corner shower was VERY small---and I am 5'2, and I couldn't even bend over in the shower stall to pick something up. I would not say there are any luxurious bathroom amenties---just some shampoo and conditioner on the wall in the shower, but nothing else. No garbage can, either, so we used a shopping bag. There is a larger minifridge with a freezer on top, so that was nice. There was also a small coffee pot. ||4. Blinds do not close all the way, so the lights from the parking lot and highway were very visible all night long. ||This hotel does have free parking and is very close to downtown and the Civic Center, so it is in a good location, but what you see on the website is not even close to what this hotel was like---at least on the floor I was staying!
