The rooms are kind beat up but pretty clean. You can tell the place has seen better days but ownership is trying to make do with what they've got. What I don't like is there's no outer security doors. Now I've slept in some funky places so I'm not fussy about these things but if you are there seem to be some better kept up places nearby.

Rooms are getting a little dated. But I hear renovations are in the near future.
At Effingham IL
Room rates are very reasonable.
Employees are Friendly and helpful. Much appreciated.
Surprisingly the rooms are Quiet. Compared to Super *8 others in the near area.
That is why this was my last 3 years of attending water conference,
I choose Days INN.

We had requested an upper floor and were give a room in the old and tired out building on the ground floor. The entire building needs renovating and this was not worth the money given the better, nicer hotels in the immediate area. Don't waste your money if you want a decent stay.

The website said the room was $63. We ended up paying the "only available rate" of $115, including an extra fee for our dog. They also put an extra $100 hold on my card for "incidentals". The room had a fridge and microwave that did not work. Also, the wallpaper had mold around the window, and was peeling off the walls. There is water damage on the walls.

I read reviews, of course, and some of you were basing it off of an online booking, which is not OK because they’re not affiliated your booking with a third-party so that has nothing to do with the actual hotel. Yes, there is an older hotel but the family here is great. You can’t ask for better people. They’re kind courteous and they will meet you every need. Do you ever live in a home in your house starts to wear down because it’s aging like us OK so you’re basing your stay off of H does that mean that we can be judgmental because you’re getting older I mean comes Come on guys I know it’s frustrating but some of the stuff I’m reading is ridiculous. You’re booking on third-party. They’re giving you a discount through a third-party app or website which has nothing to do with them. They just willingly let you go through there with their hotel and pay less so that has absolutely nothing to do with the hotel the people the surroundings and if you haven’t been around here, I lived here in my entire life, and I moved away. They have been upgrading and modeling this hotel for a little bit and you know how much money that cost do you have any idea? you know that thing called common sense how about we try and use it we all know how frustrating life can be and how frustrating that really is but come on. Can you really base it off that? Do you wanna base it off the color of your skin because you’re white you’re being a cracker. I said what I said. you need to think before you speak. I am sick and tired of the racism when the color of the skin or the race or religion I so am so sick of it because you have no idea how kind and courteous this family is they will do just about anything for you. Wanna push comes to so I would appreciate it to all of you. I wanna sit here and dog somebody and I bet you you’re not perfect and maybe your house looks like that too or maybe you don’t have one. Have you ever owned a hotel? Do you know what it’s like to upkeep one cause I’ve cleaned them lots of them. This is an amazing place to stay. Yes it’s older which is why it’s a little cheaper. They are great. They give you everything you need for a good night sleep a relaxing night before a business day the next day they are very kind to people. It’s a great place yes it’s older and they have been fixing it and they have upgraded a lot since I’ve been gone so I would recommend it to anyone. And those of you are complaining about marijuana I have an allergy I can’t stand it. Did you know that in the state of Illinois is legal though? You’re literally complaining about something that is legal. Like I said common sense!! 🙂 How about we are have a blessed day guys. Like I said, I’m a very honest blunt person so if something is not up to part or if I wouldn’t recommend it for my children or something, I would most definitely say so but I Would recommend it it’s in a great location with great restaurants , the family there is very kind. so if you want something that’s got luxury you obviously wanna go spend $300 in a hotel room late at night or not they have bookings I promise because nobody literally wants to pay that unless it’s a special occasion at least I don’t so this is luxury enough for me because simple is better. There’s TV and shower. There’s a bed that’s comfortable. Everything is washed. They are very clean. I’d recommend them in heartbeat. Thank you all 🙂

Positive: The location is the only thing likable about the place. Negative: The rooms were filthy and I had to clean it before I could even sleep there. I used my own bedding because I was afraid to sleep on theirs.The people who own/work there were absolutely rude.

My room was very unclean, the HVAC unit did not work, and the plaster was crumbling in the bathroom. The staff was very friendly though and did mention that the facility will be remodeled. I wouldn't recommend staying there until maybe 2026.

This particular days inn is very disappointing. There is water damage on the ceiling and walls, the wallpaper is peeling off of the walls revealing mold, the carpet is filthy, the microwave and refrigerator do not work, the walls are dirty, and we were overcharged for the room even with a military discount. We are three women (one of whom is pregnant) with a baby. 10/10 would not recommend.
