Our stay here was very good. A grocery store just down the street. Nice to have the mini kitchen facilities. The room was comfortable, clean, and well laid out. Location was good and area was safe.

We encountered a problem when a pack of kids were repeatedly running up and down the hall and making tons of noise. Whoever the adult was, wasn’t doing their job. However, when I informed the front desk about it, they promptly came up and laid down the law. It was super quiet after that. I really appreciated that the front desk took care of this. They said they were having similar issues on 2nd and 3rd floors so it must have been a bus load of kids. In any event, shame on the parents for making the hotel do their job. The guy at the front desk was awesome.

The staff was very prompt and kind about all requests we made. They greeted us every day when we left and returned to the hotel. They were outstanding. Because of a recent back injury, they accommodated our request for a first floor room. We stayed for 8 nights during Christmas to come back home and celebrate with family. The suite was clean and very comfortable. We spent a couple days just relaxing in our suite. There was a kitchenette which was very convenient. A grocery store and great restaurants were very close to the hotel. We would definitely stay at this hotel again.

Positive: The cleanliness overall and the hot breakfast. Also it seemed like a very safe area to stay in so we were all comfortable. Negative: My son said the pull out couch was not comfortable to sleep on.

I've stayed at a lot of Hiltons as an honors member. This place was pretty great. The rooms were clean and nice, the staff was really friendly, and the location is great. Like others have said the beds are not the most comfortable, but doable. I like that it was a more updated Hilton so you could watch Netflix in your room. The breakfast wasn't horrible, it seemed like a pretty good selection. The kids enjoyed the waffles. The only other downside was the pool was closed for inspection while we stayed, so not sure why or what happened but that was a bummer. The workout area is nice and has a good selection. Overall it was a pretty good stay and I would definitely stay again.

The DeKalb location is a decent place to stay for short trips. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Location is easily accessible to highway and some shopping. The only two things that would keep me from using this hotel for longer stays would be the breakfast and the beds. The beds are passable, but not what I would call actually comfortable. The breakfast is not good. When there was breakfast sandwiches available, they looked old and overdone. The oatmeal was consistently a brick in the bottom of the pot. Orange juice was my not working. Very few other things available.

Least responsive staff ever. We stayed four nights and never had our room cleaned. When we tried to ask for clean towels we got a lot of "no English". Toilet clogged, which is apparently par for the course as I saw the plunger outside several rooms. (The plunger was of poor quality and didn't work.) At checkout I asked for a discount because we had paid for room cleanings and didn't get them. I was told the manager was out but he only gave points, not refunds. The guarantee sign is right there and I read it back to her. She told me the manager would contact me the same day. He didn't.|After 24 hours I called back and was told the manager was still out, so I asked for the regional manager--she said he was the regional manager. She told me the records showed we had refused cleaning. This hadn't happened, which I told her, also asked how they would know if refused cleaning when they didn't speak English. She never said the manager would call me. So after four more days, I called the Customer Care line and was told it would take 30-60 days for them to investigate and mail a check. I said it was unacceptable and read the guarantee again, the one that says they'll make it right or give you a night free. Next she said she'd said an expedited request and they'd respond with 24-48 hours. So here it is six days later and no one has contacted me. I guess I have to institute a chargeback against the hotel? Hoping someone will read this and respond.

We stayed at this location while my daughter was visiting NIU. From checking in with Brenda, chatting with Theresa in the elevator (and loving her and not even realizing she’s an employee) and checking out with Memphis the following day, nothing but perfection. The rooms are clean, modern and huge! Perfect location.

Great location with a nice park across the street perfect for a relaxing walk or having the kiddos burn steam on the play equipment. The park trails connect to the wider Dekalb bike trail system.

Our room was clean and had a lovely view of the park.

Only minutes away from Northern Illinois university.

Standard included breakfast is fine.

If you want something more substantial, do what we did and check out The Depot for a full American breakfast in a cute train-themed diner.
