Came for a convention. room was 3/5 (semi motel vibes) not dirty,( even tho the previous persons clothing where still in the drawer. The staff where really nice. I loved being in the mix of the college students. It was a vibe overall. The campus is so nice and there are tons of photo ops. Great stay overall tho.

Perfect place if you're visiting for graduation. It's cool that school is having a hotel for visitors. Affordable price. Not a fancy place. The room size is decent, bathroom is small. They could do some improvements.
The staff is super friendly.
This wouldn't be the first pick. This would be my 3rd or 4th choice.

Good place to warm up or cool down while waiting for a bus! It has t.v.s benches comfy chairs, a piano and more! Perfect place to hang out and or study!

Love the idea of being so close to our daughter but we were on the 12th floor the a/c barely worked although we said something it was very late already and just wanted to go to bed so didn't take them up on someone coming to look at it so late. The room was small but the bathroom was super extremely small. So if you don't mind small and hot in the summer time it's definitely a place to book. But like I said I loved being within walking distances to see our daughter I her dorm, & the price was very reasonable as well!

I stayed here during a visit to the university and found it a good budget-friendly option. Would stay again for visiting DeKalb. Pro's - Very clean, fairly large room with a decent sized TV, and good water pressure in the shower. The other guests on my floor were generally there for NIU-related purposes as well, so it was very quiet and felt safe. Con's - the plumbing made odd noises, even when I wasn't using it, but it did not disrupt my sleep. I wish there had been a chain on the door and a full length mirror in the room. As others have mentioned, the towels are remarkably small and coarse, and the floral bedspread really dates the room - time to replace those! View was great but window was tiny, and the room could have used more lamps or adjustable wattage light bulbs. BUT HEY- you can't beat the price or location! It's located above a college student center, and students are involved in running it as part of the school's hospitality degree program, so bear this in mind. I expected bare bones accommodations so it was nice to find mints in the room, along with mini soap/shampoo/lotion and hairdryer. And PS - Unlike others who have left reviews, I found my king sized bed was truly a king sized bed/mattress; pretty firm but I was able to get a decent night's sleep.

It was ok. You can hear your neighbors and the plumbing is loud and can hear it from the room next door. Beds are uncomfortable. For a quick stay it is fine. Cheaper than a hotel off campus. No pool or room service. The outlets don't work . This place needs major updating . 71 bucks a night for 2 twins is ok but the beds are horrible .The only rooms they had available were twins.

More like a hospice or 1970s or 80s dorm room. Twin size beds in some rooms, so not my opinion of a true hotel. Price is excellent for these conditions and seems to be clean.
No luxury but staff is nice.

We stayed here as part of our freshman family orientation package. This hotel has the a great location and the price is very good. However the rooms are dated and my wife and I were in 2 uncomfortable twin beds. The shower head is ridiculously low and the old CRT tv had a few issues. Our son will be at NIU for the next few years but we are unlikely to stay here again.
